Room 504, Sunday Morning

[intraspective]

Ino was busy.

If you could call having cranked the music up with her door wide open and cross-legged on her bed reading busy.

(Ino was also inconsiderate of her neighbours and their sleeping in habits, yes.)

And reading was busy even if it was simply the same information she was pouring over in an attempt to glean new details from (so far: not working) and giving her something to look at while she struggled to come up with something to say to the e-mail she'd gotten on Tuesday. She needed to answer it, but it made her feel like crying, so she wasn't. Happy thoughts only. At least for the moment.

One thing, she thought with a sigh. All she wanted was one thing that was simple.

... she could go get a hot chocolate. That was about as simple as it got. Hmmm.

Most of the times, once Jacob was asleep, he was dead to the world. This noise however, was coming from the room right beside him and his wolf hearing was not happy.

Soon she had a cranky, half naked boy standing inside her room. "Can you turn that down?"

Ino glanced up from her reading.

"It's been louder before," she protested. "No one's complained then."

Probably because it hadn't been godawful o'clock in the morning, Ino.

"Well, someone's complaining now," he said with an annoyed growl, running a hand through his hair.

She sighed and leaned over to twitch the volume down.

"Ain't that a shame," Ino replied. "I like this CD."

He sighed in relief as the pressure from his ears fell away, letting him hear something hear something beside the music.

"Wolf hearing," he said, tapping his ear. "I like my silence."

[intraspective]

She gave him mournful eyes. "That ain't fair that I got to turn it down lower than normal 'cause of your ears."

But she'd done that, please note. She was just whining.

Jake snorted. "How about you just turn it down in the morning? I kind of like sleeping. It's pretty neat."

[intraspective]

"I like sleeping too," she retorted. "Ain't my fault that you get to bed later than me."

Jake rolled his eyes. "So the whole world should just follow your schedule?"

[intraspective]

"Absolutely," she said, keeping a straight face. "Zack does, after all."

They'd had the same schedule to start with though.

"Maybe Zack's whipped," he suggested. He felt a little dumb standing around and grabbed the desk chair to sit down.

Ino snickered. "Does Zack strike you as the sort of guy to be whipped by a girl?"

"I wouldn't know. I don't exactly know him," Jake pointed out. "I do know you're the type of girl to whip a guy."

Puppies had to come home from early-morning jogs around the island sometime, right?

And this particular one wasn't even missing a beat between stepping through the door and starting to peel off his sweaty shirt, because he had apparently been trained well, by now.

"Morning!"

Because he was going to greet her with that no matter how many times he saw her this morning, right up until noon.

"Morning," she laughed, reaching over to turn her music down. "Have a good time out and about?"

"It was good exercise," Zack replied, giving a short nod before flopping down on the edge of the bed and mopping the sweat from his forehead with the balled-up shirt. "And the rocky bits are never not fun to run around on, you know?"

They were one of the bigger challenges that the island's landscape offered. So, of course, he'd take it.

See, and him being there and doing that meant she was going to have to wriggle over to kiss him hello.

Because it was the little things that were important.

"If you break an ankle on those, one day, I will laugh."

She would, too.

"My ankles are really hard to break," laughed Zack, leaning sideways a bit to bump his shoulder against her. "And even if I manage to somehow, I've got Cura on me."

So, really, she would never even have to know if he broke his ankle! How totally convenient!

[intraspective]

"I wouldn't want to see the rock that broke your ankle, it is true," she admitted. "It'd probably break mine just by existin' in the same area if it managed to hurt you."

"It would have to be actively swinging at me," Zack agreed, still grinning a bit at the thought. "And then I wouldn't really be complaining. After all, I did go out looking for exercise."

[intraspective]

"Fear the demon rocks," Ino laughed lightly. "For they are evil towards ankles of all kinds."

[puppy_fair]

"They just like a challenge! Or maybe they're angry that I go stomping over them every morning before the sun comes up..."

It was entirely possible. This was Fandom.

[intraspective]

"Don't tempt Fandom," she teased. "You'll wake up one day with the rocks looming over us both."

Zack actually laughed a little at that, shaking his head.

"Well, I still wouldn't complain," he decided, shrugging and tossing his shirt across the room into his clothes pile. "Rocks are just rocks."

[intraspective]

"Still not the best fun," she informed him. "Though better than if the plants came alive and were angry."

Because. Uh. Their room. Was rather plant infested.
