Room 504, Sunday Morning

[intraspective]

Ino was busy.

If you could call having cranked the music up with her door wide open and cross-legged on her bed reading busy.

(Ino was also inconsiderate of her neighbours and their sleeping in habits, yes.)

And reading was busy even if it was simply the same information she was pouring over in an attempt to glean new details from (so far: not working) and giving her something to look at while she struggled to come up with something to say to the e-mail she'd gotten on Tuesday. She needed to answer it, but it made her feel like crying, so she wasn't. Happy thoughts only. At least for the moment.

One thing, she thought with a sigh. All she wanted was one thing that was simple.

... she could go get a hot chocolate. That was about as simple as it got. Hmmm.

[Oooopen door and post.]

"Still not the best fun," she informed him. "Though better than if the plants came alive and were angry."

Because. Uh. Their room. Was rather plant infested.

Zack blinked and looked around the room, yes, letting his imagination fill in the gaps.

"...You don't think the school board would get too angry if we had to resort to Fira in our doom room, do you?"

[intraspective]

"Probably not under the circumstances?" Ino said dubiously. "Though I'd probably cry."

Some of her plants were rare and the only ones on this planet of their type. She was allowed to cry at that.

Well, the last thing that Zack wanted was to make Ino cry. Clearly, this meant that alternatives needed to be found!

"I don't suppose you have any nets or something tucked away, just in case the houseplants attack, then?"

[intraspective]

"...No," she said, considering that. "I suppose I could get nets though."

[puppy_fair]

"It certainly couldn't hurt!"

It would be really, really weird, but it couldn't hurt!

"And you could use them on any sort of invasion, too!"

[intraspective]

Ino grinned at him.

"What else do you think we could use?"

[puppy_fair]

Zack considered that question for a whole ten seconds!

"Tomato cages!"

... What? Why not? They were cages, weren't they?

[intraspective]

"Tomato cages?" Ino echoed. "Won't those be pretty useless?"

[puppy_fair]

"Not against these guys," Zack decided, pointing toward the plants in the room. "Though, admittedly, we never did try anything like that when we ran into Razor Weeds back home..."

That was just what Fandom didn't need. A Razor Weed invasion.

[intraspective]

"That sounds like an idea almost promisin' pain to us if we attempt it," Ino mused as she flopped backwards on their bed.

"Might be amusing."

[puppy_fair]

"I think that pretty much demands a detour to find some Razor Weed, the next time we go to Gaia," Zack laughed. "I think it would be totally worth it!"

Because Zack sometimes had insane priorities.

[intraspective]

"I like that," she said agreeably. "And it's not like we can't handle Razor Weed, hm? So we're not being dumb and goin' after something too bad."

[puppy_fair]

"Nah, they don't take more than a Fira or two to get out of the way, anyhow," Zack agreed, laughing. "I'd be more worried if we were trying to put a tomato cage on a Malboro or something. They wouldn't take to that so well."

[intraspective]

Ino laughed, grinning up at the ceiling.

"Don't think I'd do so hot 'round a Malboro yet," because it was a yet, "but we could always try that eventually, hm? Just to say we did it."

Brilliant idea, really. Only not.

Zack took that opportunity to look up thoughtfully at the ceiling.

"Maybe if we told him it was a stylish new hat..."

Because Malboros totally cared about fashion accessories. Sure, Zack.

[intraspective]

She nudged him with her foot.

"We'd get our asses killed, most likely," Ino decided. "Though it'd be kinda funny if that's how it happened. Imagine that report."

But who would be giving that report?

"We'd have to bring somebody along with a camera," Zack decided. "Just to film us and laugh."

And then to run like hell when the SOLDIER and the Ninja both ended up kicking the bucket as a result of their wacky shenanigans.

[intraspective]

"And someone who doesn't care too much," Ino pointed out. "Or else we'd have to listen to them telling us over and over that it's a stupid idea. We know that."

And yet, they'd still do it.

[puppy_fair]

"I bet if we got Kunsel drunk enough, he'd do it!"

That was what best buddies within SOLIDER were for!

[intraspective]

"Just not so drunk that he can't run properly. The running is important!"

[puppy_fair]

"We can stick him into some sprint shoes," Zack laughed. "They look really dumb, but they're awesome for running away."

[intraspective]

"Think you could convince him of that?" Ino asked, grinning over at him.

Zack tilted his head for a moment, looking good and thoughtful.

"If he was drunk enough to think that filming us trying to put a tomato cage on a Malboro was a good idea? Probably." A pause. "Of course, sprint shoes might just means that he ends up running straight into walls, really quickly."

[intraspective]

"Would there be walls where we'd find the Malboro?" Ino asked. She didn't know. She knew roughly what a Malboro was and that it was about a million years out of her league but...
