Room 504, Monday Morning

Ino, unlike most the rest of Fandom today, woke up and was perfectly a-okay with the world. She was chirpy, even.

And giggling whenever she looked over to the spare bed in her room, and saw Ichigo there. She’d be less amused if he woke up still all mentally ill-like, but Ino figured that, for now, she’d just take the hopeful route and assume it had worn off over the night.

Because she couldn’t wait to mock him mercilessly.

Ichigo tensed and for a second his head started to lift from the pillow.

Crap. Ino...

Fuck it. He wasn't doing this.

Another groan and he grabbed the pillow and pulled it over his head. "Go 'way!"

"It's my bedroom, darling."

Ino was so going to hell for this.

He hated life. He hated the universe. He hated Ino.

For a whole of two seconds he considered what to do and then he bolted up and threw the pillow at her as hard as one could throw a pillow. "Shut up!"

She squawked and flung her pillow at him in self defence. "Is that any way to speak to your one true love?"

Oh god, his head was pounding and he fell back to the bed, the pillow lying on top of his chest. "Say that again and I'll kill you."

[intraspective]

"You won't kill me," she said, grinning. "You love me!"

Ino was having way too much fun with this.

"That wasn't me!" he objected, but he didn't have the energy to get up and kick her ass. Maybe in a little bit.

"It certainly looked like you," she said, beaming. "And sounded like you."

Sort of. He hadn't talked like Ichigo, but...

"Not me. It was pot plant. Or maybe you were smoking something," he grumbled, crankily. It couldn't be him, he'd turned into a hollow. How could he have a hollow's mask in his human form?

Dammit, his head hurt. "Fuck. You knocked me out, didn't you?"

[intraspective]

"You were going to kiss me again!" she said. "And from the way things were going the options were either I knock you out, or you try and ravish me, and uh, I figured you'd rather the knocking out."

"Yeah, okay, fine," he said crisply. "What the hell happened anyway?" He was going to close his eyes again, it helped the pounding in his head.

[intraspective]

"Fandom whacky struck again," she said impishly. "And it missed me, and really got you. You said you flung yourself off a cliff to kill a hollow inside of you and that then we could be together forever."

Yeah, it was still funny.

"How's your head?"

"You hit hard," he complained, ignoring all the other stuff he didn't want to think about. He reached up to feel if he had a bump.

She wandered over to sit beside him. "Let me see, you big baby."

Well, he hadn't found a bump. It didn't mean it wasn't there!

He wrinkled his nose, but surprisingly enough lowered his hand and rolled to his side to let her inspect. "How come you didn't get hit by it? That's hardly fair."

[intraspective]

"Never hits everyone," she said, holding one hand over his head and using a small bit of chakra to make sure it was just a headache. "Just got lucky, I guess."

"Next time I'm getting lucky," he muttered, trying to follow what she was doing but the whole lack of eyes on the side of his head made it hard. "Pretty sure Ender got hit by it too." Angela hadn't been... Crap.

[intraspective]

He'd probably notice his headache disappearing though. Ino felt like being nice.

Sort of.

"Aw, did someone not like having a true love?"

It was, which was the only reason why he was holding off an punching her leg. "Shut up! I'm not that corny!"

"You were yesterday!"

"Not. Me," he said between gritted teeth and he glared up at her.

She patted him condescendingly on the head.

"Sorry," she said, "but it was you."

"No," he said and this time he did try to punch her thigh. "It was not."

She winced, because that had hurt. "It was," Ino assured him. "Really, really was."

A beat.

"Want to know something though?"

"What?" he asked, annoyed that the wince actually made him feel badly. Stupid.
