Room 504, Saturday Night

Ino could sing just fine thank you very much even though Ichigo was a bit of an idiot about it and was proving that, this evening, but singing at the top of her lungs with the radio up and blaring, not caring that she didn’t know half the words to the songs, and dancing around in her room in her pyjamas.

With the door wide open. As you do.

What? She was having fun! Loudly.

Take that, Ichigo!

Hurley stopped by after he closed up shop at Groovy Tunes.

He knocked on the door.

"Hey," he said, kinda chuckling when he heard her.

"Hi!" she chirped, totally unrepentant about the noise. "Am I bugging you, or anything?"

Hurley shook his head. "I was just blasting rap at the music store. Not like I can complain."

"Well," she said reasonably, "you could, if you were trying to sleep yet. But that's good to know. Just get off work?"

"Yeah," Hurley said. "Was doing some inventory and stuff, long day. You been up to much?"

[intraspective]

"Clinic!" she said, doing a little twirl with the music. "And then, you know, wandered here and got bored, so I decided to de-bore myself and it's working!"

Hurley gave Ino a thumbs up. "I totally approve of singing. Always works for me."

[intraspective]

"You sing?" Ino asked. "What do you sing? Just anything? I'm doing... whatever comes on the radio."

"I know some stuff," Hurley said. "I do a decent James Brown."

It would... probably help if Ino knew who that was.

She laughed. "It's just fun to... be loud sometimes, don't you think?"

Hurley nodded. "Just let go and stuff. It's awesome."

She wandered in and fell backwards onto her bed with a flop.

"And you feel better after!"

Hurley chuckled. "Exactly," he said. "You didn't need cheering up or anything, did you?"

"Just was thinkin' about stuff I didn't want to think about," she said, shrugging. "So I decided to stop."

A beat.

"And I was totally proving Ichigo wrong. He doesn't like my singing."

"Well, he's a dork," Hurley said. "That settles that."

That got a laugh.

"A dork? Do you know him?" He was totally a dork.

Hurley shook his head. "I don't think I've met him yet, still."

"You're sweet," she said, grinning. "And he is one."

Hurley grinned. "But, he's probably a cool one, right?"

She pushed herself halfway into a seated position, and hummed.

"Sometimes." Not that she'd tell Ichigo that.

"You two still sorta... going out?" Hurley assumed yes, but he was making conversation.

"Totally," Ino said, "we're being all good and relationshippy and stuff. It's fun. What 'bout you?"

"Oh, Penelope and me are gonna go to the Valentine's Dance together. So I think we're doing just fine," Hurley said.

"You and Penelope?"

"Oh, don't worry, she's not engaged anymore," Hurley said. He grinned.
