Room 504, Monday Morning Before Third Period

Ino, getting back from Tyler-sensei’s office, and quite content with the glitter she’d gotten in her hair (it had been on her hands, and therefore... well, had migrated to her hair quite easily and maybe on purpose).

Leaving the door open, she flopped down on her bed and set about writing a letter to her dad that detailed just what she’d gotten up to this weekend, and how Liir had the worst taste ever in boys.

Seriously. Ugh.

So she was going to wriggle around so she could tug his hair gently. "My personal theory is that it's all pointless," Ino said.

"Hrm," he tilted his head into the touch, far enough to look back at her. "Why do you say that?"

[intraspective]

"'Cause, see, different timelines, right? Like you and Chad?" Ino said, wrinkling her nose thoughtfully. "So, what happened in Liir's timeline doesn't have to happen in his dad's timeline--'cause his dad is currently here at Fandom, and so the timeline is already changing and being different from what Liir lived through."

He frowned, not sure if he was getting all of that and he thought the brain breaking wouldn't happen until he actually got into Sam Carter's classroom. "But Chad and I are still going through the same experiences. There is enough common ground, wouldn't you want to make sure?"

[intraspective]

"Make sure, that's fine," she said, resting her head in her arms. "But, from what Liir's told me, his dad would've died the night he got here--only the door he opening, rather than into his apartment, sent him here."

"Huh," he considered it for a moment. "So I'm guessing it wasn't an accident?"

[intraspective]

"Murder," she nodded. "And, obviously, I'm not saying that if he went back it's not entirely possible that he'd be murdered again, just in a different way--but I'd guess that the way he originally died is rather invalid by now, considering everything."

"Maybe, but it sounds like knowing what happened can be important," he shrugged.

[intraspective]

"We know that," she pointed out. "But, you know, time passing generally means that the people who were going to kill him the night he got here aren't likely to still be waiting there whenever he goes back."

"A hollow might," he said idly, not sure why he was saying it. "Sometimes they go back to the same places."

[intraspective]

"They going to sit 'round in one spot for months and months?" she asked.

"No, they move from our world back to Hueco Mundo when they're not hungry," he said. "But sometimes, they come back to the same place even years later."

[intraspective]

"Bit different from humans, yeah?" Ino said, kicking her feet idly in the air. "I mean, sure, it'd be stupid of him to stick 'round his old home considering, but he can always move."

"I know," he shook his head and turned half towards her. "So what candy?"

She grinned and wriggled her hand at her desk chair. On it, there was a pillowcase with a good bit of candy in it. "Candy!"

"That's not very specific," he leaned forward to try and snag the pillowcase off the desk.

"It's all candy," she said, watching as he got the bag for her. "So it all rules, pretty much. Except for the little carmel squares. Those are kinda gross."

...Ino didn't like caramel, no.

"You're crazy," he decided and the pillowcase was staying with him. She was delusional if she thought he was going to hand it to her. "They're fun. It sticks to your teeth."

"They're gross tasting," she insisted, leaning over to reach for the bag. It was her candy!

It was, but his hand was already in the bag to grab a handful. "Your loss. I'll eat them."

[intraspective]

"You can have those ones," she said generously, snagging the bag in two fingers and trying to tug it closer. "Since neither me or Kusanagi would eat them."

Because snakes so often ate caramels, really.

He let her have the bag, but not after stealing more than just caramel candies. "You're too kind."

She stuck her tongue out at him. "I know."

He tossed one of the caramels at her in response. "Shut up," he added lightly.

"You don't like it when I'm quiet," she said, making a face at the caramel and setting it on top of his head.
