Room 504, Monday Morning Before Third Period

Ino, getting back from Tyler-sensei’s office, and quite content with the glitter she’d gotten in her hair (it had been on her hands, and therefore... well, had migrated to her hair quite easily and maybe on purpose).

Leaving the door open, she flopped down on her bed and set about writing a letter to her dad that detailed just what she’d gotten up to this weekend, and how Liir had the worst taste ever in boys.

Seriously. Ugh.

"Maybe," she said. "Depending on how it is, I guess."

He was going to look just a little smug now. Come on, he totally had reason to be.

"You don't need to worry," he said, a little quieter. Especially considering what he did dream about.

"Yeah?" she said, giving him a bit of a soft smile. "That's good to know."

He hummed, because he wasn't sure he was supposed to say next and tugging her hair again seemed like the best response. It might have been a hint that she needed to get closer.

She wriggled around so she could lay next to him and nudge his shoulder with hers. "More candy?" Ino offered.

Well, he had been thinking of something else but... "Sure. Gimme one of those caramels."

That... could count as candy. In a metaphorical way.

She rummaged in her pillowcase of stash for a moment before flicking one of them at him. "If I was mean," she said, "I'd make you get the one on the floor."

"You just know I wouldn't get up anyway," he said lazily, he picked the candy from his chest and popped it in his mouth.

"That's because you're lazy," she said, poking him.

"Why wouldn't I be?" he tried to swat her hand away.

She let him try to swat at her hand, only in her counter attempt, tried to claim ahold of his.

"'Cause you shouldn't be. Working hard gets more done."

Says the girl with three jobs.

"And what exactly do I need to get done?" he wanted to know, frowning as she caught his hand.

Ino shrugs, not giving him back his hand. "I don't know."

"Well, until you know I can continue to be lazy and get nothing done," he said with a nod and he wriggled his fingers.

"Don't you get bored?" she asked, tightening her grip slightly.

He shrugged. "There's no hollows here."

She stared at him. "That's not an answer."

"Sure it is," he frowned at her. What wasn't to understand about that?

"I ask if you're bored, you tell me there's no hollows," she said. "That's not an answer."

He still thought it was. "Yeah, I'm bored," he clarified.

She rested her head against his shoulder. "Why not get a job, or something, then?"

"A job doing what?" he turned his head to look at her.

"I don't know," Ino shrugged. "What do you like to do?"

He considered it for a moment while his thumb idly brushed over hers. "Fight hollows?"

She smiled slightly. "What did you do before you fought hollows?"
