Room 504, Sunday Morning

“I am so glad you’re a kitten,” Ino told Liir after she’d listened to the radio broadcast. “Because, seriously, I highly doubt you’d be pleased.”

What, with radio speculating that Hannibal thought she was a whore and all of that. Ugh. And she still wasn’t sure how they’d managed to think that she’d been talking about, erm, bestiality with Jack. What was up with that? Seriously radio.

For now though, her brother was a kitten and she was more than content to just pet him and talk to him about lighter things--no need to mention how the conversation with Cal had ended, right?--and leave her door open in case anyone wanted to come by.

Lana was more than happy to do just that.

Ino flung her arms around her tightly. "You alright?"

Liir, for his part, went to rub up against Lana's ankles and purred.

Lana nodded. "Yeah. Well, not really, but I will be." She reached down to pet Liir.

"I'm going to miss him so much. But he says you're in charge of making sure I have as much fun as possible before I go."

Liir-kitty adored pettings, and scritches, and cuddles and was excellently happy with the state of affairs should Lana feel like any of it.

"I am, am I?" That was said lightly. "Puts a lot of faith in me for someone I've talked to, like, twice."

The missing, well, the missing she couldn't do anything about.

Lana was more than happy to do all of the above. Made her feel a little better.

"Yep, he said he'd even send you cupcakes if you did a good job."

"...how is he going to know if I do a good job?" Ino asked. "Progress reports?"

Lana shrugged. "I didn't ask. Maybe how many strange men I go home with?" she teased.

"That," she said firmly. "Will totally be 'none', seriously."

Lana laughed. "Good."

Ino grinned. "You say that now... but I bet, totally, the first time I've got to interfere, you'll complain at me." Teasingly.

"Should we have some sort of a code? In case it's someone I really, really want?"

"It'd have to be a fairly precise code," she mused. "I mean, you'd need something for 'I really really want this one, and I've only just met him' or, 'I really want this one and have known him for awhile and he's a good guy so a-okay', you know?"

"Perhaps a spreadsheet of every male I know and what I think of them and how well I know them?" Lana suggested with a huge grin.

"...and how much you'd want to sleep with them?"

"On a scale from one to ten, maybe?"

"One to ten, with a side note of how likely they'd be to have a girl or boyfriend who'd come after you for it if you did?"

"I'd already have that factored in," Lana said seriously. Or mock-seriously at least. "Chance of being killed by angry S.O. definitely drops the rating a good 3 or 4 points."

"Does it depend on how much they're likely to be able to kill you?" Ino mused.

Lana thought about that for a moment. "Huh... well, when we get closer to the time I leave that might factor in. But if they can make my life miserable, then it still counts."

"You realize though," she said. "That I'm going to need to know all of this, because at the time you're trying to leave with some guy you aren't going to be caring 'bout how well their S.O. can kill you."

"Good point," Lana said. "I'll make a note on the spreadsheet then."

"...why do I get the feeling that this spreadsheet's going to hurt out crazy-complicated?" Ino asked, giggling.

Lana laughed. "Actually, there wouldn't be that many," she admitted. "Not that don't have enough strikes against them for whatever reason to keep them off my list."

"Hmmmm." She pondered that. "Still, imagine how odd that sheet would look to someone other than us..."

"Very true," Lana agreed. "Though at least three of the guys on the list wouldn't care at all. And since there would only be..."

She counted in her head. "Six, maybe seven... It wouldn't be too big a deal."
