Room 504, Friday Early Afternoon

[intraspective]

There was nothing quite like training all morning, taking a long hot shower, then collapsing onto your bed and flipping through gardening magazines and making notes.

And, you know, not thinking about what she had to do. That worked. Maybe if she just stayed in her room it’d all be okay for another day.

Luck ran in her family. Surely that meant this tactic would work. She'd keep her promise to A.J., but really, did it have to be today?

[Door is shut, post is for a certain alien-boy, but open if you come before him in the timeline.]

That was enough information to make her drawn several conclusions that she found way way too amusing.

Ino grinned at him. //"Thank you! I learned a good bit of French as well, and stole a lot. Fine, upstanding citizens we are."//

And the sad thing was, her conclusions probably weren't even as bad as reality.

Romeo snickered. //I'm sure Europe misses us greatly.//

Back in English, he added, "I tested your gun and gun club yesterday. It is perfect. Let me know if you want to borrow it or ... I would buy it from you, if you want it back." He was not giving it up.

"They should miss us, we were awesome," Ino said, then shrugged at him, "I might borrow it some time, but I'm not allowed to have a gun of my own. Deadpool-san said, and Cable-san agrees. Glad you like it though."

"Why not?" Romeo asked. Sure, Ino was tiny, but he thought the ninja thing overrode that.

He didn't really question why it was their decision and not Ino's.

She rolled her eyes. "Because kids shouldn't have guns," Ino said, "apparently. I don't know. A weapon is a weapon as far as I'm concerned and Deadpool-san had no problems giving me knives."

"Kids shouldn't, but I hardly think we count as children," Romeo fumed. "I agree, a weapon is a weapon. I know someone who fell to a piece of broken glass."

"I know," she said, "it's annoying. Back home I graduated at twelve, which made me an adult in the sense of being able to wield weapons. I don't see the difference in a gun and a knife. Both can kill."

Ino tugged at her hair. "It's, well, even with Fandom locking our weapons away. There's still many things that any one could use with just a bit of creativity."

"And you've training," Romeo noted. "I was about that age when my father handed me a gun and told me not to point it at people if I meant it not, which was about the extent of my lessons."

He gave her a wry look. "And the students here certainly do not lack for creativity. I'm glad there's so little fighting, really."

"Lots and lots of training, though admittedly guns are a rather new addition to my training," Ino said, wrinkling her nose a bit, "and no, we're lucky that way. Though, you know, I think that's just because we spend so much time at the beginning boggling about things that by the time we've found our stride we've got friends who'd not want us to fight. Or something."

"That, and we're almost all alone when we come here, so there are no old wounds begging to be reopened," Romeo told her. "There isn't fighting because someone has the wrong last name, or prays to the wrong god, or has a father who insulted someone else's father 15 years ago."

"Which all happen in your world, I'm guessing?" she said, gesturing for him to have a seat if he wanted. "Hokage-sama wouldn't let that happen in mine."

"The god one is less prevalent, but the other two, very much," he said. "Montague is not a good last name to have, if you want not to fight." A trace of bitterness touched his words. "You are lucky to have your Hokage."

He shook his head at Ino's offer of a seat, though. "I ought to stop by my room, and then make the long journey to see Yurika across the hall," he explained. "I've probably kept you for too long."

"We are lucky. I know it. And I wasn't that busy," she admitted, "but if you are, then go on. I'll see you around. It was nice of you to stop by."

"I do live next door," Romeo reminded her with a grin. "So it would take some effort not to bump into each other. I'll see you soon."
