Room 504, Tuesday Evening

Reno having been successfully avoided, Zack having gotten his travel permit to her world, and Ino in a totally good mood having scored some chocolate after a quick stop in town... she was pretty sure most of the things in her world were right and good for the moment.

Ino flopped down, radio turned on because, no, she wasn't sick of the carol thing yet, and tugged out one of her notebooks.

This one was red. She figured it was fitting.

Breaking a piece of chocolate and nibbling on it, she set about dividing her list of questions into smaller sections and making notes on which ones she could probably get away with asking Reno. Which ones Zack would answer with no problems, and which ones Elena would probably answer without arousing much suspicion from her.

She hummed absently as she worked, feet kicking idly at the air. It was Good Fun and Good Use of Her Skills to have something like this to do.

Reno was probably wishing she'd never ever thought of it, though. He had no idea how thorough she could be.

"Yeah," she said, eyes cool. "You did."

Jennifer thought about that one for a moment.

"...Sorry," she said, and she meant it.

Ino counted to ten. Then to a hundred in multiples of three.

"You can't be sorry for something you didn't remember."

"Actually, I can," Jennifer said. "Because what it means was I wasn't thinking when I said it, and that I can be sorry for."

Ino gave that a shrug, keeping her own consul on that while making up her mind on another matter.

"Alright then," Ino commented. "I forgive you."

That was a lie, but nothing untoward showed on her face.

"Well, that works out fine, then," Jennifer said, smiling pleasantly and none-the-wiser. "As I'd sort of noticed I was sort of... missing you."

"Only sort of?" she teased, locking her thoughts away for the moment. "I think I'm worth more than a sort of."

"Hey, I've had a lot on my mind," Jennifer said. "I hoped that might be obvious."

"Yes," Ino said eloquently. "You're green."

Which was far weirder to her than anything like a lack of ethics or an interest in fighting, honest.

"Yes," Jennifer said. "Green. It's actually pretty fun."

Ino's eyebrows went up.

"Fun?"

"Fun," Jennifer said. "I mean... I'm stronger, hotter, and harder to hurt. It's pretty much a total package."

Ino, don't be mean and point out the downsides to that.

"I don't know," she said, smiling slightly. "I rather liked you as you were, honest."

True enough.

"...really?" Jennifer said, thinking this sounded absurd. "Can I ask why?"

"'Cause you were more yourself then," she answered.

"More Jen."

"Which is weird," Jen said. "Since I've never felt more like myself."

Her smile turned wry.

"We don't all get to feel hotter, stronger, and better for life."

"Guess some of us are just lucky," Jennifer said. "So what've you been up to?"

"Plotting world domination," she quipped. "And making lists of things I want."

Lists of things she wanted to know, mind, but close enough.

"Sounds like a good idea," Jennifer said. "Anything I can help with on that list?"

Um.

Ino eyed her notebooks (with her lists neatly written in her own language and coded besides) and then tilted her head at Jen.

"What would you think good questions to ask someone if you wanted to know more 'bout where they lived are?"

Jennifer thought. "I'm guessing 'Hey, tell me about where you're from, please?' is out of the question?"

"Yeah," she said, lips twitching. "Just a bit."

"Might help if I know who you want to ask," Jennifer said. "It'd give me a better idea."

"Can't," she sighed. "It's more than one person. So I need shiny base questions."
