Room 504, Monday Evening

[intraspective]

Ino lay sprawled out on her bed, hair down, with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. She was staring moodily at the rest of her room and wondering if she ought to go over her class notes for Thursday just to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything.

They were over on the desk somewhere though and she didn't feel like getting up to find them. None of her other books were interesting tonight and looking at the scrolls from home only made her cranky.

Oh, what to do?

Maybe someone would come and distract her? Her door was wide open. Ino eyed it with vague hope.

Kabuto knocked lightly on the door. "Hi, Ino. You look busy."

Ino perked up at the sound of the knock. Someone! She laughed, "I'm bored out of my mind but if that's what you consider busy..."

"It could be. Work isn't always entertaining." Kabuto smirked, adding, "Even for me; and I love my work."

[intraspective]

"I'm really not doing anything. Honest. Just laying here and being bored." She didn't really want to think too much about what Kabuto's work entailed. It did remind her of something though and Ino's eyes narrowed as she looked him over, "Did you heal yourself yet?"

"Enough," Kabuto replied with a shrug. The small bandage on his nose, half-hidden by his glasses, spole volumes for that. "Why are you worried?"

[intraspective]

Her shoulders stiffened and Ino glared at him, "I'm not worried!"

"Could've fooled me," Kabuto retorted. "And that's saying something." He leaned against the door frame, grinning.

She blushed, then wished she hadn’t. "You don't have to be such a jerk about it!" Ino said, glowering while she scrambled for an excuse. "It's, uh, unhygienic to have someone walking around with open wounds in the dorms! Ew."

Kabuto snorted. "Unhygienic. Okay, Ino-san. Whatever you say." He snickered, hiding it behind his hand. "Did your weekend get better?"

[intraspective]

It was a poor excuse, okay? She knew that! The laughter was not nesscessary! Ino sat up and tugged her blanket tighter, "Not really," she told him, "Talked to my Dad yesterday, and now I have to write to him weekly and if I don't he'll set Yondaime-sama on me." A grin crossed her face, "He thinks you're a girl, by the way."

"I could turn myself into a girl," Kabuto reminded her. "But I have no desire to do so. Especially since you'd try to make me go shopping again."

[intraspective]

Ino eyed him, "You'd make a pretty girl, actually. And shopping would be hilarious then."

"Hmm..." Kabuto mused, tapping his chin. "They certainly wouldn't see the attack coming, that's for sure..."

[intraspective]

"Kabuto!" Ino was trying not to laugh because, really, so Not Funny when she couldn't tell if he was joking or not, but the giggles kept breaking out, "You can't attack people for no reason!"

"No? That's funny, I've done it all the time..." Kabuto shrugged. "I've never had much call for oiroke no jutsu. Though I shouldn't be terribly surprised you're into girls?"

[intraspective]

"I'm not into girls!" Ino looked outraged, "Take that back!"

"So you are, then? It was just a simple question, yet you treat it like an accusation." Kabuto sighed softly. "You have a lot to learn about lying, Ino-san."

[intraspective]

Ino flailed at him, "I like boys! And I'm not lying!"

Kabuto laughed. "You're always fun, Ino-san. It's so easy to make you twitch."

[intraspective]

Ino's response? To fling her pillow at him.

Kabuto caught it easily in both hands. And then the pillow exploded in a flurry of feathers cotton stuffing material.

Ino gaped at him. "I need that pillow!"

"Then don't throw it away," Kabuto advised her, tossing back the empty pillowcase.

Ino caught the pillowcase and glowered at him. "It would serve you right if I stole yours."

"If you can steal it, you're welcome to it." He just wasn't going to mention anything about the pillow's history. It was completely up to Ino if she wanted to sleep on something that belonged to Kabuto.
