Room 504, Tuesday Morning

Ino... had heard radio. Thanks a lot, radio.

Ino was now contemplating hiding in her room for the rest of the day just in case Temari-san had heard, and took offense, to what had been said.

It didn’t look much like she was hiding, since she had the door open and was ostensibly just doing a thorough check up on all of her many plants. She was honest enough with herself though to know that she was hiding. If Temari-san had really wanted to have words with her then a closed door was hardly going to stop her.

Just... staying out of Temari-san’s way sounded like a real good idea right about now. So that's what Ino was doing.

Ino did. She grinned because she was pretty sure he didn't.

"With the right people," she drawled.

"Are you trying to say I'm the right people?" he wanted to know, still very much clueless.

"I don't know," she said, hiding a grin. "Are you?"

"How am I supposed to know that?" he shot back. "You're weird."

"Isn't there a saying 'bout it taking one to know one?"

"Yeah, but I have an excuse," he said stubbornly.

"An excuse?"

"I've always been weird," he said easily.

"How do you know I haven't always been weird?"

"Weird how?" he wanted to know.

[intraspective]

That got a shrug. "I wouldn't know," Ino said reasonably. "Because my standard of weird isn't the same as someone else's."

"I guess weird is something that most of your classmates wouldn't consider normal," he explained.

Ino pondered that.

"How is anyone weird when you've got well, me," Ino said, "a boy who controls shadow, a girl who can see through things, a boy with bugs living in his body, and another boy who can make his body bigger and stronger all in the same class?"

He paused. "Not my fault you live in a freak world," he teased her.

She tried to whack his side for that. "My world is normal to me!"

Ichigo let her for some reason. "People thought my hair was weird. How do you explain bugs crawling out of your ears?"

"What's wrong with your hair?" Yes, that's all she got out of that.

"Have you seen people from Japan?" he asked. "Everyone has black hair."

"Dojima-san's from Tokyo and she'd got blonde hair," Ino said dubiously.

Ah, different universes.

"Maybe she's just foreign," he suggested.

"Nope," she said. "She's not. Born and raised in Japan and her family has been there for eons."

"She could be a fluke like me," he pointed out.

"Maybe," she conceded. "Though I don't see why it's a big deal. My best friend back home has naturally pink hair."

"They're teenagers," Ichigo said simply. Then paused. "No, that's not true. They're people. Anyone who looks different, must be different."

Ino rolled on to her back. "That's depressing."
