Room 504, Tuesday Morning

[intraspective]

Ino... had heard radio. Thanks a lot, radio.

Ino was now contemplating hiding in her room for the rest of the day just in case Temari-san had heard, and took offense, to what had been said.

It didn’t look much like she was hiding, since she had the door open and was ostensibly just doing a thorough check up on all of her many plants. She was honest enough with herself though to know that she was hiding. If Temari-san had really wanted to have words with her then a closed door was hardly going to stop her.

Just... staying out of Temari-san’s way sounded like a real good idea right about now. So that's what Ino was doing.

Hurley walked down the hallway with a basketball, until he spotted the open door. His curiosity got the better of him, so he peeked in.

"Whoa," he said. "That's a lot of plants."

Amber sort of barraled in, eyes wide. "Did you hear the radio oh my god?"

She grinned over from where she was sitting on the spare bed and fussing with a pot of violets. "I do like them, yes."

"I know!" she said, wrinkling her nose. "And such, am hiding, seriously. Just, you know, in case."

"I have so much to do today. I can't hide. Oh god I hope I don't run into her. I need all my teeth," Amber looked incredibly worried. "Ino, I'm sorry. I never should have said anything." She can't believe she was going to say this. "If she comes to bother you, send her to me. Tell her it was my fault and I'll deal with her. I don't want you hurt."

"Cool," Hurley said with a nod. "It's always good to have, you know, hobbies and stuff. And I bet it makes the room, like, smell nice and stuff."

"Well, 'long as you like plants," she admitted. "I'm kinda glad I haven't gotten another roommate 'cause what if I got one that hated them? That'd be a total pain. And they do make everything look nice."

[intraspective]

"Don't worry 'bout me," she said, even though Ino was, in fact, worried about herself. "I can heal, and I'm better able to take a beating than you, if it comes down to that."

Not that she wanted to, but she was.

"Hopefully, if we're lucky she didn't hear it." Ino could dream.

"But I do worry," she said, biting her nail. "I can only imagine if she heard, what she has to say about it all."

Amber shook her head. "I'm on my way to the gym in town to meet Murdock. I've been working on my self-defense. For some reason I don't think anything I've learned will affect Temari if she decides to kick my ass."

"How could anybody not like plants?" Hurley said. "They're green and make oxygen and stuff."

[intraspective]

Ino looked at her plants consideringly. "Some people are allergic to them," she said reasonably. "And some just... don't care either way 'bout them. I'm guessing you like them though?"

"If we're lucky, she'll think it's beneath her to notice what radio said." Ino was hoping that anyway. "So she might not say anything, but yeah, a bit of self defense isn't going to do much against her."

"Yeah," Hurley said. "I mean, not like I have green thumb myself, but they're cool. They definitely, like, yeah. Cool."

"Yah, I get the feeling I'm not much better than a piece of crap to her, so maybe luck will be on my side. She'll know I blabbered anyway so she shouldn't bother you."

"Keep that up and your room'll be invaded with plants," she teased.

Well. Half-teased. Ino had a habit of taking over rooms with plants.

It was a sad fact that Ino rather hoped that that was the case. She wasn't going to admit to that though.

"Well, it's not like I've hid my opinion about her," she pointed out. "She might come after me anyway."

It was okay if she did; Amber more than knew it to be true.

This was just a sucky situation. She supposed she'd just have to deal with it if it came around to bite her in the ass.

"I got to go. I just... wanted to check on you first."

"Hey, I'm okay with that," he said. "Though, uhhh, I guess I'd better ask Tahiri if she'd mind."

"Be strong," she said, nodding. "Go meet Murdock and work hard, or something. And hope for the best!"

She was, yeah.

"Thanks, Ino," she said, trying to be encouraging as well. "You too!" Amber then turned and ran out. She was already late.

"See?" Ino set the violets back in their spot on the spare desk. "That's why a roommate can be a bit of a pain. They can be awesome too," she said fairly, "but sometimes a pain."

"Dude, Tahiri's cool, though," Hurley said. "I mean, she hasn't, like, freaked out about having to live with a guy or anything, so it works. But living alone can have advantages, yeah. I guess you can always... talk to your plants if you get lonely. Or something."

She laughed. "I talk to them anyway, it's good for them, they grow better when they know someone cares."

"Really? Cool," Hurley said. "I never really cared for any plants at all. I had a dog once, though. He'd eat anything. One time, I think I musta left a roll of smarties in my change drawer? The next day, he crapped out a buck thirty-five in nickels."

The only reason Ichigo wandered by was because he was bored. It wasn't like he'd actually pay attention to radio or register anything that was said. So yes, he was bored. "Hey."
