Room 504, Thursday Daytime

There was a rather ominous level of rage emanating from room 504 today.

After being carried back to the dorms, Ino had slept in fits and starts, too wound up to ever really rest, and eventually gave up entirely.

A few hours later, Ino was sitting cross-legged on her floor, in one of Kabuto’s shirts and not much else (which, really, his shirts were more than long enough to be pajamas on her, come on) and fuming.

And considering how to burn the poster bits. Should she do it one piece at a time? Or all at once?

Ino would be good for tonight, and the boy hunting.

For now though—the poster bits were going to die by fire.

As soon as she figured out which way would be the most satisfying.

Ichigo rolled his eyes. "That was a joke. Maybe a stupid one, but anyway... So what was on it that got you so pissed?"

She went back to glaring at the paper.

Humph.

Obviously the paper was the problem.

"You could throw it away," Ichigo suggested. "Or stab ever piece. It might keep you busy for a while."

"I," she said with great dignity, "am trying to decide how to burn it."

"Matches," he advised. "Preferably not near any fire extinguishers."

He hesitated for a moment before he squatted down in front of her. "I know we've just talked once, so you can tell me to just mind my own business but... Are you all right?"

[intraspective]

"It's more a matter of peice by peice or fiery burning death all at once," she said, almost conversationally, and glancing sideways at him.

...

"...I'm not crazy." Just pissed off. Severely pissed off.

And some people would probably argue the not crazy bit.

"I didn't say you were," he replied, shrugging a shoulder. "I'd burn them in one. No reason to drag things out."

"This sort of idiocy," she said flatly, waving one arm at it. "Deserves a slow and lingering death."

Ichigo tilted his head, trying to fit the pieces together in his mind. "Seems like you decided then."

[intraspective]

"I haven't."

Ino pissed made even less sense than Ino happy sometimes.

He was starting to get that.

"Okay," he considered her for a moment. "I'll let you think about it then."

She glared at him. "Don’t patronize me!"

Ichigo wasn't quite sure why in this instant he suddenly missed Rukia.

"Oh, put a sock in it. I'm not patronizing you. You'd know it if I was," he told her as he pushed back to his feet. "You're angry and you don't want to talk about it. Which is fine. We'll chat when you're in a better mood."

"People are stupid," she informed him.

"That's nothing new," Ichigo pointed out. "It's not very likely to change either."

"Stupdier than normal," Ino snapped, exasperated.

"Yeah, I got that part already," Ichigo assured her. "So are you going to tell me why or do I have to glue that together?" He'd leave too if that was what she wanted, but he'd already offered and she hadn't really let him.

"Don't be stupid," she said witheringly. "The posters are everywhere."

Ino had, honestly, no idea what she wanted him to do.

Ah. He reached down for a piece of paper, half expecting her to slap him before he could. "I'm guessing it's not the toga party ones. Unless you have a thing against togas."

The papers were pretty mangled and ripped and, well, just this side of dead by now, but no it really wasn't a toga party one.

"Nothing to do with togas."

No, he didn't think it did. He turned the piece around in his hand before dropping it on top of the pile again. "So it's that whole life changing experience thing?"

"Brain-switching!"

Yes, that was a shriek. Right in one.

Asking if she really thought that was possible seemed stupid in light of the whole shrieking thing. "It does... sound like asking for trouble," he agreed.

Ino flailed. "It's not a game! People are going to treat it like one!"

"I don't know," Ichigo said slowly. "Didn't it say that they tested it and it's safe?"
