Room 504, Friday Morning

[intraspective]

“Liir,” Ino was saying patiently to a wee green-eyed kitten. “I can’t pet you and go through my closet at the same time. Seriously.”

The door was shut, just incase her brother got it into his head to make an escape for it (and, really, she doubted he would--he just wanted snuggles, and scritches) but whatever. Better to be cautious.

“Oh, fine,” she said, rolling her eyes and picking him up. And snuggling him, shut up. “I’m waiting for Lana you know and you’re totally not allowed to look while we change, or I’ll stuff you in the closet... or come up with a kitty blind-fold, or something.”

[Door is shut, post is entirely open despite Ino only expecting the one! Entertain me?]

Lana stopped by with her kimono, still carefully bagged. Jim had given it to her so it was very precious. She knocked on the door politely.

Ino grinned down at Liir. "Who do you think that is now, hm? I bet it's Lana."

...Ino was probably going to be talking to that cat all weekend, seriously.

She wandered over to the door, purring kitten in her arms, and opened it. "Morning!" she chirped. "Come on in."

"Hey, Ino," Lana said with a smile. "Hey, I didn't know you had a cat."

That got a laugh. "Um. I don't normally." She glanced down at the grey kitten with green eyes. "Lana, this is... um, well, Liir currently."

The kitten just purred.

Lana blinked, then laughed. "He's just as sweet as a kitten, I see. Jim used to turn into this black panther cub all the time."

"He's annoying," she said, then kissed the kitten on the head. "Totally annoying."

Honest. Really. That was totally why she was snuggling him now.

"I bet a panther cub would've been a bit harder to take care of though, yeah?"

"Well, I had to get him fresh meat to eat," Lana said. "and he did tend to be very growly and over-protective of me."

"Awwwwww, that's adorable. So. Sweet."

"Yeah," Lana smiled a little wistfully. "Actually, he's the one who gave me this kimono. He had to go to Japan with his dad and he had it made specially for me while he was there."

[intraspective]

"Oooooh." Ino set Liir down, ignoring the way he rubbed up against her ankles. "It's a really special one then, I'm sure."

Lana nodded. "At least to me, it is."

"I'm sure it is," she said, with a smile. "Let's see it then."

Lana carefully laid it on the bed and spread it out. "Isn't it gorgeous?"

There was a knock at the door.

Ino glanced up from where she was, uh, petting Liir on the bed. Shut up, he insisted. "It's open!" she called, wondering who it was.

Michael pushed the door open then stopped and blinked at the kitten.

"Hey. New pet?"

[intraspective]

That got a grin. "Nuh huh," Ino said brightly, holding the kitten up for inspection. The kitten, it must be said, just purred. "Michael, meet Liir."

"...uh huh. Fandom weird again?"

[intraspective]

Ino kissed Liir-kitty on the head and giggled. "It totally is. And it's adorable."

"So how're you other than kitten-sitting?"

"Good," she said, beaming at him. "And pretty much wasting time 'til tonight. You?"

"Pretty good." He shrugged. "What's tonight?"

That got a wee bit of a Look. "Tonight's the cruise with the icebergs, silly."

A beat.

"Want to come with?"

"A cruise with the icebergs?" He did look interested. "Been meaning to go off the island."

Interested was a good sign.

"It's a good chance to," she said, with a sideways glance at him. "And, you know... Lana and I decided we're wearing kimono for it."
