Room 504, Saturday Early Evening

Ino had spent most the afternoon out hitting things after her detention. Now though, she was considering the bruises she’d gained from training and trying to decide if it was worth it to heal them or not.

Oh, who cared? It wasn’t like they were serious.

That done, she started trying to decide what to bring with her to Lana’s for the night. And, you know, Not Thinking about anything that had happened yesterday. Some parts had been good, very good even, but others had really failed.

Ugh.

Michael had been on the way back to his room from work, and her door was open.

He knocked on it anyway, since her back was turned.

She twisted, glancing away from her closet, and blinked at seeing... well, him there.

"Hi," she said, not sure at all about this.

"Hey. How're you doing?"

[intraspective]

"Not bad," Ino admitted, "had detention earlier, then did some training. You?"

"Pretty okay. Quiet day at the diner - what'd you get detention for?"

[intraspective]

"Mouthing off at Tyler-sensei, in Bomb class," Ino explained. "So I actually, supposedly deserved it this time. First earned detention since I've got here."

"I never had one yet. Even for blowing Logan up in How to be the Best."

[intraspective]

She laughed. "I poisoned him, and he said I was a good girl when I told him I'd increase the strength of the poison for the next time I got him like that. Logan-sensei rocks."

Ino eyed him for a moment. "...you coming in?"

"See, how come you get 'good girl' and I get told I can't have cheap gym membership?" he demanded easily. "Am I invited?"

[intraspective]

"Because I'm cuter than you are?" Ino offered lightly. "And I was sneaky 'bout it."

"Sure," she said, hoping this wasn't a bad idea, "consider yourself invited."

"We weren't supposed to be sneaky!" he protested, stepping inside. "Unless that was part of what we're good at."

She giggled, raising her eyebrows at him. "Come on, I had to be sneaky to even have a chance at poisoning him."

"And that fitted with your whole gardening thing, but how do you blow someone up sneakily?"

[intraspective]

"Um," she considered that. "Your way? ...I'm not sure, honestly."

"Exactly!"

That got a grin, though then she flailed a bit when Ino realized that, wow, she had nothing to say that wasn't... um.

Awkward.

"So. Um..." What? She had no idea.

"Yeah, I guess we should... talk."

That was almost reluctant.

[intraspective]

There would be some mental flailing at that idea, yeah.

"Yeah, I, uh... yeah. Talking."

And not, you know, kissing like last night.

"So I guess, uh... how much did you really have to drink last night?"

[intraspective]

"I remember last night," Ino admitted, guessing at the question behind the question. "I didn't drink enough to not."

He nodded slowly.

"Okay, that's one thing... but would you've done it without the drink?"

He's not asking if she wanted to, that was obvious. This is a different question.

She shook her head slightly.

"...don't think I'd have had the nerve," Ino admitted reluctantly.

That... was a slightly confusing response.

"But you'd still have wanted to? It was just about the courage?"

[intraspective]

Ino seriously considered hiding in her closet for a moment.

Why did they have to go through this?

"Never really... stopped... wanting to," she said, fiddling with her hands, and wow the floor was interesting right now. Very Interesting. "But... with everything..."
