She’d started the day off in a good mood, really. Honest and true! The fact that only Zack could testify that was true though meant things had... well...

After her second period class however, that wasn’t anywhere near true and Ino had the music in the flower shop cranked up almost aggressively high as she wrote in one of her notebooks.

Fine. Fine. Next time she wouldn’t even tell him and then see how he’d like it. It was tempting, but she couldn’t do that. Ino loathed that fact. One misstep and she’d fuck it all up.

But right now, right now? It was a pleasing thing to contemplate.

Someone had decided that it was his responsibility to educate a certain someone else on a variety of different flowers, and so that someone was waltzing into the flower shop today to take care of just that.

And how pleased he was to see another flower, though yet to bloom in his opinion, working behind the counter.

"Ino-chan ♥!" he happily greeted her over the music, and stopping, of course, to smell the roses. "How lovely to see you working here on just the day I need a few more flowers in my life ♥."

The worst bit of that opinion was that, had she known it, Ino wouldn't have been entirely able to argue it.

Though she would've tried. But it's hard to argue with yourself.

Her head had raised at the movement of the door--she hadn't heard him, but the door moving? Yes, she'd noticed that. She sighed as he talked to her over the music--and so delightedly too--and twitched the music down to something that was less inclined to force people to raise their voice.

She wasn't grumpy with this one, after all. And he was a customer, she suspected. It'd be poor form to be rude to him. At least at first.

"I'd be more flattered," she said, lips twitching into something vaguely resembling a smile. "But I suspect you'd say that to anyone workin' here today. Hey."

"Only if they were as lovely themselves ♥," Shunsui assured her, though of course she was right.

And if it were Vida working today, she'd have likely gotten a much more R-rated version. Rrawwr.

"I'm in need of some tulips to send ♥," he said. "I figured this would be the place to turn to ♥."

And, as he spoke, he took the time to breath in the sweet fragrance of even more flowers around him, thinking he should be in need of flowers more often. This was lovely!

"Any special occasion?" Ino asked, reaching for one of the notepads. "Any particular colour you were looking for? For who?"

One eyebrow arched.

"Got a crush on someone?"

She wasn't anywhere near the cheerful levels she could reach but, hey, she could be a cashier. Simple enough. And if she didn't hit the levels of apathy some of them did... well... Ino was Ino.

The questions made Shunsui chuckle. "With the plethora of great and varied beauties populating the island ♥," he said with a smirk, "it is impossible not to fall completely in love with someone every day ♥. And I think a variety of colours would be best; the poor soul has claimed to not know much about tulips at all, and so we should give her quite the array ♥. I would also much prefer to just write her name and address down without mentioning it, because, as I'm sure you know, the squirrels have pencils, and I'd prefer it to be a surprise ♥."

"No problem," she said, offering him the pad of paper and her pen. "Though I think you're wrong 'bout love there."

"Oh ♥?" asked Shunsui, quirking an eyebrow to encourage more elaboration while jotting down the information, with Jaina-chan ♥ and her address as the recipient of the lovely tulips and, for a message, he carefully scribbled down in a flowery script:

"Tulips, like two lips,
when parted, can reveal sighs
of something much sweeter ♥

I hope they at least bring a little more colour into your day, Jaina-chan ♥. They may be beautiful, but it's they who are being complimented when I call you by their name ♥"

No signature, of course. You'd have to be an idiot to fail to figure out who would send that.

Yes, yes you would have to be.

Ino left the safety of the counter and went to go stare at the tulips while trying to decide. Yes, he'd said it was mostly about the colour, but flowers meant things as well and it'd bug her if they didn't match up.

"If you love everything equally then you can't possibly have a love that means more," Ino replied, frowning slightly. "And falling in love completely for a day--that don't work either. Love ain't something you fall in and out of like your shoes."

There were a lot of things Shunsui could contend with in those statements, but, of course, he was a lover, not a fighter, and he didn't particularly like any sort of altercation, especially if it could be easily avoided.

"Ah ♥," he said, taking a moment to smile and enjoy the scent from one of the tulips, and he lifted a finger, "I never said equally ♥..."

Then, he decided, plucking up one of the tulips, "And there simply has to be some of these ♥..."

"You sure you don't got a crush on them? Considerin' that'd mean you're saying they've got beautiful eyes and all..."

"Positive ♥," said Shunsui, with a wink. Shunsui didn't have crushes; he just loved nearly everything, as over Ino-chan's head that may be. "And she does have beautiful eyes ♥! They're like the sun glinting off the strong, sturdy rocks of a moss-covered mountainside ♥."

Ino sighed at his enthusiasm. "Blue tulips maybe? Or pink and orange, as well? Or how 'bout the yellow and purple ones if you'd like..."

Only for people who were uncomfortable with enjoying everything life had to offer in vastly overdone appreciation.

"Oh, let's do all of them ♥!" said Shunsui. "Variety is the spice of life ♥."

"This makes me sad," Ino informed him, because he was just so cheerful and totally ruining any possible way to make up proper meaning. "White, green and yellow, orange, black, and red as well then?"

"Yes, please, that'd be lovely ♥," said Shunsui, maintaining the cheerfulness before turning a faint frown on the girl. "But why would it make you sad?"

"'Cause you're making it impossible to have them speak their own language," she replied, glancing at him. "They have meanings too and it's always nice when they get to show off those meanings."

Ino was a bouquet snob, however.

"But all I need to say is that there are many different kinds of tulips ♥," said Shunsui, smirking at Ino-chan a little. To see someone spark a passion about something that wasn't fighting was always uplifting, even if it was in direct opposition of what he was doing.

"Perhaps next time when I want to say something more than that, I'll turn to you for help ♥."

Looks like someone else was going to get flowers next Tuesday!

She was never going to get rid of him at that rate.

Not that Ino was really trying, no. She liked him about as much as she wanted to sigh at him.

Which was quite a bit either way.

"It'd be prettier if you did it a few at a time," she tried. Thinking it was hopeless. "So that they'd not clash."
