Room 504, Sunday Late Morning

"Oh, come on!"

Ino glared at her reflection. There were still faint blue streaks in her hair, despite her best efforts at getting the paint out. A.J. was so dead when she caught up with him again.

Her door was open a crack, but Ino hadn't noticed. She was much more occupied with her hair.

"This isn't fair!"

The crack opened wider when Annette peeked her head in. "What isn't fair and what the heck happened to your hair?"

"I can't get it out!" Ino said, turning to face Annette, "And A.J. did it."

Annette bit her lip to hide her smile. "I like the blue, Ino. It suits you." She walked on in and took a seat on the floor, crossing her legs. "Seriously. Blue is the new you."

"You've got to be kidding me." Ino flopped on her bed and propped her chin in her hands, "I've spent hours trying to get it all out."

"Would I lie?" Annette teased. "Blue is one of my favorite colors." Not that she would want it in her hair... but you know, just saying. "So... a paint fight uh? I hope you gave him just as good as you got?"

"I totally won. Got him with the yellow." Ino said, pulling a bluish strand out in front of her face to frown at it, "But I still don't want this in my hair."

"From the looks of your hair, I would say that he might have won too. Unless you like totally dunked him in the yellow? In which case, I wish I had been there to witness this paint fight." She laughed. "How fun!"

Of course, Ino might disagree.

"I got him better than he got me." Ino insisted, "And, well, it was fun - until I couldn't get it out."

"Yeah, paint fights are always fun!" Annette exclaimed. "What started it?"

[intraspective]

"Um, well, I was talking about the latest in Fandom weirdness? Did you get afflicted with that at all? Anyway, there was slime and water involved, and he said that he felt left out 'cause it sounded like fun." Ino shook her head, "I offered to dump water on him... and that turned into a paint fight."

"Ew. No. I didn't get affected by that. Slime? Fun? Ewww. That just sounds gross," she said, making a face.

"So... it was a friendly paint fight right? You two aren't fighting or anything are you?"

"That fight was friendly." Ino assured her. "We both had fun with it."

"Have you been fighting with him otherwise?" she asked, raising a brow at Ino.

[intraspective]

Ino looked uncomfortable for a second, before shrugging, "We had a difference of opinion, that's all. Nothing big." Liar, liar.

Okay. Yeah. Annette twisted her lips wryly and folded her arm across her chest. "What kind of difference of opinion?"

Ino's eyes narrowed very slightly, and she said firmly, "I don't want to talk about it." She’d wait and see if she had to mention it first. Ino could do that much for A.J.

She cast about for a diversion. Ah. She did have one. "What do you know about Christmas? Hoshi mentioned it to me, but we got distracted talking about something else."

Annette narrowed her eyes back at Ino. "First? We will talk about it. I can tell that whatever it was, it must have bothered you pretty bad for you to not want to talk about it. Come on," she said, trying to coax her into talking.

"It was..." about you. "nothing really. Just two people having a bad day exploding at eachother." Ino shrugged. "I'm over it." Not really but...

"You are so freaking lying to me right now," Annette stated. "How come? If it was nothing really then you could talk about it. I tell you practically everything, Ino... what gives?"

Ino buried her face in her blankets. "I'm thinking things over." Watching for developments. "I'll tell you as soon as I can." If she had to.

"Bullshit." Annette hardly ever cursed, but when she did, it was because she definitely was feeling the need to.

Ino's head shot up, "You know what? I told him I wouldn't say anything unless I had to, so just leave off it for now, okay?"

"What is that supposed to mean? Unless you had to?"

[intraspective]

"Exactly what it means." Ino said firmly, "Unless I have to. Right now I'm waiting and watching for things."

Annette frowned. She didn't get any of this but then she was probably not supposed to. She looked down at her lap, pouting. How come anything and everything concerning A.J. upset her?

"Fine," she murmured.
