Room 504, Wednesday Late Night

[intraspective]

Ino was glad to be inside, where it was warm, and she stopped outside her door still wrapped in Kabuto's cloak and looked up at him. And had to laugh 'cause his glasses were still streaky from the snow she'd dumped on his face.

"You coming in?" Ino said hopefully. She wasn't tired yet, and his company was welcome.

"All of the above?" Kabuto asked, shrugging slightly. "It's more entertaining than sitting behind the bar with Musubi." For a moment, Kabuto wished he had a kunai. His fingers itched to do something.

She flicked a little origami flower at him. If he looked around the room he'd see that there were quite a few paper flowers in various colours scattered about. Ino hadn't gotten around to deciding what to do with them yet. "I'm glad to provide you with some form of entertainment, I suppose."

Kabuto caught the flower, his eyes lighting up with sudden glee. "You always do," he told her absently, unfolding the paper. Biting his index finger, he scrawled symbols on the paper in blood and refolded it quickly. "Much better."

He tossed the little paper flower into the air, grinning as it exploded in a small puff of smoke.

Well, she probably should've expected that. "I guess it's true what they say about boys liking things that explode." Well, so did she, but hush. Ino tossed another at him, and continued brushing her hair, "Except when you're more interested in a book?" Ino asked dryly.

"Books are more entertaining," Kabuto agreed, "But that's obvious." He picked up the next hapless flower for a repeat performance of the first. Nevermind that he was writing in his own blood. That was commonplace for ninja.

And really, it was just a little blood. Hardly worth mentioning. Ino's eyes narrowed slightly, though she still smiled, and after taking a sip of her tea she wandered over to him hairbrush in hand.

"Why not bring a book to work then?" Though that'd make it really boring for her if she visited. She set to work on his tangles.

Kabuto's fingertips healed very quickly. They were used to the abuse. His head was too, just not to much, especially when Ino's brush his a particularly stubborn knot. "...Ow." Kabuto lips quirked in a half-smile. "Are you trying to hurt me?"

"Do you want me to?" Ino asked 'innocently'. "'Cause I can totally wield this hairbrush with more might." She hadn't meant to, but really, sometimes Kabuto acted like a baby. It was just a snag.

Hair-pulling tended hurt quite a bit. Kabuto looked over his shoulder and raised an eyebrow, smirking. "I thought you weren't into that?"

"When did I say that?" She didn't get it, but Ino hadn't ever done anything to really know if she was or wasn't into most things. And she knew Kabuto liked pain.

"You said you'd do it more," Kabuto pointed out. "Why offer if you wouldn't do it?"

Ino didn't bother to answer him out loud. But her next pass through his hair with the brush was quite a bit rougher than she'd been doing before.

Kabuto made a little noise of approval, leaning against the pull of the brush. "Ino-san," he said quietly, sounding just a little bit surprised.

"Better?" She asked sweetly, doing it again.

"You have to ask?" Kabuto reached behind him slightly, running his nails along Ino's leg...not hard enough to really hurt, but enough to be clearly felt.

"I don't do this regularily, you know." Ino whacked him on the head with the hairbrush, and shifted slightly, "Behave yourself." She was going to run out of tangles soon to yank the brush through. What would she do then?

Kabuto wasn't prepared for the smack to the head, but...well, yeah, Ino really should know what kind of effect this sort of thing had on him. She was probably just not thinking about that. "Mm...how do you want me to behave?" he asked, purposely over-acting the subservient tone.

She did know what kind of effect it had on him. And she wasn't thinking much about it, except for a tiny bit that wanted to see how far she could push him and an even tinier bit that said Miss Lulu would probably be pleased with her initiative in attempting to broaden her horizons.

He got another whack on the head for talking like that. "Stop that too," she told him, "it's not like you at all."

Kabuto smirked. "Actually, Ino-san, it's more me than you've ever known." He almost purred. It might've been a little...creepy?

It was also kinda hot, but Ino tried not to think about that. "Be snarkier," she ordered him, letting the brush dig into his scalp. "I like that better."

Kabuto laughed. "So, do you want me to obey you, Ino-san, or do you want me to go against the order and thus be snarky?" He smiled over his shoulder. "To obey and be snarky yet obedient, or to disobey and be snarky yet obedient...it's a quandary."

"And if you don't solve it soon you're going to get kicked out of my room." She said serenely, "I told you what I want from you." A sharp tug of the hairbrush gave her words more force.

"What do you want from me, Ino-san?" Kabuto asked curiously, finding one of her feet and tickling her toes. He was being snarky...in his own way.

She squeaked and moved her foot away. Running the brush through his hair, still roughly, Ino gave the question serious thought. "... Challenge." She said finally, "Fun."

A longer pause than before as Ino debated how honest she want to be. In the end she told him what she was thinking. "Danger," another pass through his hair, "... and thrill."

There was a reason her impulse control was so very, very bad. And it was because Ino honestly enjoyed getting into and then out of trouble.

"Hmm..." Kabuto murmured, shifting suddenly and stealing the brush from Ino's hand. "And you think I can do all that for you?" He set the brush aside, twining his hands in Ino's hair on either side of her face and pulling her into a rougher-than-usual kiss.
