Room 504, Sunday Night

[intraspective]

Ino was sprawled out in her jammies, hair damp against her skull, and idly rereading her notes on the latest things her father wanted her to practice on.

Nibbling on candy (she'd totally got it on sale and ha, it was just as good bought as it would've been had she gone around to get it), Ino was in a good mood.

From the candy, from the studying, from what she'd gotten up to today?

Totally all of the above.

"So what have you been up to besides covert newsworthy exploits?"

[intraspective]

"Studying new and exciting ways of using my powers," Ino answered promptly. "On Dad's orders."

"Oh, neat," Triela grinned. "Anything you can talk about?"

[intraspective]

"I gotta buy a bird at some point," Ino said, glancing sideways at her. "You want to come with and watch my body while I figure out how to fly?"

"Sure," Triela shrugged. "But I bet you won't be much of a conversationalist will you?"

[intraspective]

"I could probably cheep at you once I figured out how," Ino offered, a bit sheepishly. "But not really. If I need to practice at home, Shikamaru tends to wind up cloud gazing."

"Well, I'm used to spending time with people who aren't all that talkative." She did have Hilshire, after all. And Claes for that matter.

"And it'd be practice for you too," Ino pointed out. "In bodyguarding."

"Are you actually expecting any threats, or do you just need to take precautions?"

[intraspective]

"Not any real threats against this body," she admitted. "The bird might be in danger from other predators, though. I'd rather not be eaten."

Really.

"And it's--good planning, to have someone 'round."

"It is," Triela agreed. "And what would happen to you if you were in the bird when it got eaten?"

[intraspective]

"Long as it wasn't instant death? I'd be able to end my jutsu," she answered. "In the case of instant death..."

Ino shrugged.

"Well."

"Right." Triela shook her head. "I rather like my own body."

[intraspective]

Ino gave that another shrug.

"God any issues with my powers?"

"Not really," Triela shook her head. "I can see how they'd be useful, but I think I prefer not having them myself."

"Fair enough," she admitted, wrinkling her nose. "I wouldn't wanna be stuck like you either."

Ino was way too fond of being human, for one. And having her own mind always for another.

"What've you been up to, then?"

"Class. And we've got something of a back-log of missions from when I was out of commission. So I've been doing a lot of those." She was smiling at that.

[intraspective]

"Oooh," Ino answered. "Any mission dirt you're good to share?"

"It's been mostly routine..." Triela cocked her head in thought. "But there was one where they, I kid you not, had me climbing through ventilation ducts."

[intraspective]

"Good thing you're small," she teased. "Those things can get awful cramped, can't they?"

Triela rolled her eyes. "It was dirty in there. It was a good thing I didn't wear a suit." It would have been ruined.

"Were you wearing blacks, then?" Ino asked, tilting her head. "'Cause that sounds like a job for them, definitely."

Triela nodded. "I've got a couple of sets. Complete with hats to tuck my hair under." Because it would be a shame to get it all dirty and gross.

[intraspective]

"Hats are amazing for that sort of thing," she noted.

Ino was fond of her pretty pretty hair, okay?

"That sounds fun, though. Was it dangerous?"

"Not really." Triela sighed. "They just didn't want any witnesses to my entry on that one. But I did get to do a really fun one. An entire floor had been taken over..." She smiled in memory.
