Room 504, Thursday Early Evening

[intraspective]

Ino was, normally, a fairly social girl who was good with talking to nearly anyone (until they pissed her off, or she decided they were a) lame and b) boring) but normally didn’t include the last few weeks which was why she wasn’t being social.

The door was very slightly cracked, out of concession to obtaining a breeze as her window was wind open. Ino was sitting cross-legged on the floor and replanting seedlings with a great deal more concentration than the seedlings really warranted. Her music was turned way way up in an attempt to pretend that her hallway wasn’t steadily getting emptier.

In short, she was brooding. It only looked productive. (And loud.)

"Yeah, we get to see them before they break," Hurley joked.

Ino smiled. "I think you mean that we get to break them," she said, amused. "Some of them are so easy."

"Yeah," Hurley said. "Did you volunteer for the sib program this time?"

[intraspective]

"No," she said, shaking her head. "I just didn't feel like it, I guess. What about you?"

Hurley shook his head. "I got enough already. I mean, between Hoshi, Harper, and Valentine... it's plenty."

She forced a smile, training letting it look natural. "Too bad Valentine didn't have an 'H' in it," she teased.

"Heh, yeah," Hurley said. "I woulda started thinking they were matching us up by, like, alphabets."

[intraspective]

Her lips twitched. "I don't think I'd get many siblings if that was the case."

"Awww," Hurley said. "Which'd suck, cause I'm sure you make a great sib."

[intraspective]

"I am a great sib!" she said, stung. "They just don't stick 'round much."

"They don't?" Hurley said. "Like... they all leave too?"

"Jen's here, but she got here just last term," Ino said, considering. "And Liir."

Ino gave a bit of a shrug.

"Everyone else has left, and Jen's my fourth sibling."

Ino had really bad luck here.

"Don't think I know Jen," Hurley said. "She cool?"

"She's cool," Ino said, adding an 'ish' to that one. "She wants to, like, be all lawful and lawyery when she grows up."

Ino laughed. "I don't really get it, honest."

"Weird," Hurley said. "I didn't think people ever wanted to grow up to be lawyers."

"Yeaaah," she said, though that was only about half the problem. "Super nice though."

A beat.

"Just a bit justice~y at times."

Hurley snorted. "At least she's not wanting to sue everybody?"

Ino laughed. "That'd be a hard one here, don't you think? How do you take to court people who don't exist in this world?"

"I dunno, lawyers would find a way," Hurley joked.

She shivered. "That'd just be weird!"

"Yeah," Hurley said. He paused a moment.

"Thanks, Ino."

There was no need to ask why.

She sighed a bit. "You're welcome."
