Room 504, Tuesday Evening

Awesome day had kinda dribbled into augh, blah day, and it was kinda Romeo's fault.

It wasn't that she blamed him, really—or, at least, no more than she blamed everyone else for the issues that came up whenever her world was inevitably compared to theirs—but few people asked so out-right and then the whole religion deal just gave her a headache.

She sprawled on her bed, punching in a text on her phone and stared at it for a long moment before hitting send, and tugging out a scroll to read.

"What sort of favour?" she asked, frowning at him now.

"I let her die as she wanted to," he said, just a bit more quietly.

"As what she was instead of what she'd pretended to be all these years."

That... was kind of a crappy favour to ask people.

"Why is everyone talking about death?" she asked irritably. Oh, Ino. "How're you dealing with that?"

Well. She was trying. Empathy was hard.

He shrugged.

"There's nothing much to deal with. She was old. She was tired. It was time for her."

The crack had been a little disturbing, but more in the sense of being a noise so wrong that it couldn't quite fail to be disturbing.

"I was able to remind her back to being an Elephant. That's the most important thing."

His lack of caring was almost soothing. She relaxed slightly as she thought that over.

"I guess."

"Someone die at home?" he questioned carefully.

She snickered with dark humour at that. "Not that I had a hand in."

He raised an eyebrow, but his only response for it was a faint smirk.

"Ahh, business. Well, I'm glad you're back, all the same."

"And lucky me to have healed before you checked in," she commented, resting her head against him. "I'm tired."

He held her carefully before giving her a faint squeeze.

"Maybe a bit of sleep, then? I'll be around tomorrow and the day after and all that."

"Maybe I'll try that," she said, smiling slightly. "Probably better than just reading but not getting anywhere, anyway."

"See? I'm making suggestions now. Stop me before I start stomping all over people."

He gave her a quick squeeze before loosening his hold a little for whenever she wanted to let go.

"You'll never stomp all over me," she said, wriggling out of his grasp. "'Night, Liir. Stop by tomorrow at work? Even if just for a few minutes?"

"Of course," he said, stepping back towards the door.

"And you get some sleep. Take care until I see you again."

He tossed off a quick wave, and then slipped through the door, closing it behind him since he figured she wanted to rest.
