Room 504, Tuesday Evening

[intraspective]

A shower had been just the thing after a boring, but cheerful day. Ino was now sitting cross-legged on her bed, wearing a pair of leggings and Kabuto’s shirt which was totally hers now and brushing her damp hair. A book was open in front of her and Ino planned to read a bit more of once she was done with her hair. Just a quiet sort of evening.

She’d left her door open though, just in case anyone felt like stopping by.

"It won't do anything but make the tangles easier. Geez." Ino stalked over to bed and rescued her book from the floor.

"Let's hope," Kabuto replied, smirking. "We know what will happen, otherwise." He followed her over, catching the title of the book. "...And you prove my theories of tampering by studying poisons. Ino, Ino, Ino...what are we going to do with you?"

She flushed, "I didn't tamper with it! The book is just a bit of bedtime reading!"

"Bedtime reading?" Kabuto grinned. "Hmm. I suppose I'll buy that. Especially considering you wouldn't have the guts to do something like that..."

"It's a good book!" Ino insisted, sitting down on her bed, "And I would so have the guts! I just didn't think about it!"

"I don't doubt you that it's a good book," Kabuto agreed. "But I still doubt you'd have the guts to do it. You don't have the guts to do a lot of things."

Ino bristled. "I have the guts to do all sorts of things!"

"Prove it," Kabuto challenged her, looking vaguely bored.

"What do you want me to do?" Ino asked defiantly. She sucked at turning down challenges.

"Dress up tomorrow, as something I choose." He smirked, watching her.

Her eyes narrowed as she ran through all sorts of awful things he force her to wear. Her competitive side won out though.

"I'll do it." She tossed her head, and looked sly, "If you'll dress up as what I pick for you."

"I would have been surprised if you hadn't set that condition, actually," Kabuto told her, completely unfazed. "You're going to be a pig, then. With wings."

Ino mentally squashed her temper to keep herself from flinging something at him. She was fighting a losing battle when it occured to her that as bad as dressing up as a pig was?

It could have been worse, and most people here didn't know what her name translated to. And he still had to dress up as what she decided.

Her grin went slightly evil as she thought about that. "Fine," she said, sounding grumpy, "Then you get to dress in a nurse's uniform." Ino paused and looked smug, "Female nurse. With the short skirt and everything."

Kabuto shrugged, still amused. "Sure. White and red, or scrubs-blue?" He wasn't terribly worried about her outfit choice; he wasn't the one who would be traumatized by seeing himself in drag.

Kabuto in drag was worth being a pig with wings. Ino gave him her best are-you-stupid? look. "White and red." Duh.

"All right. Just making sure; I wouldn't want to disappoint you." He smiled. "You're doing so much for me, after all. I owe you." Which was an outright lie.

Ino stared at him. "What are you talking about?" As far as she knew she wasn't doing anything for him.

Kabuto wiggled the conditioner bottle at her. "Well, I should go. I need to handwavily see about finding the right costume for tomorrow." He smiled. "You better not chicken out, Ino-san."

[intraspective]

"I don't chicken out of things." Ino snapped, shoving him towards the door. "I'll see you tomorrow, Kabuto-san."

She paused. "And don't forget to tell me how the conditioner works."

"I'm sure you'll be able to tell," Kabuto told her, winking before leaving the room to go back to his own. "See you tomorrow."
