Room 504, Tuesday Evening

After work Ino had stopped by the weapons locker and inspected her things there. Satisfied that everything there was in good working order, she’d wandered back to her room, showered and wound up in her pajamas before sprawling out on her bed with that book on American History.

Because, seriously, she had to get some reading done, right? Right. She was just going to put her head down and close her eyes for a few moments first though. She wasn’t sleeping, geez. Honest.

"I'm not entirely convinced," he insisted and he might just have returned her smile before he studied her more seriously.

She stared back at him, almost apprehensively. "What?"

"Just making sure you're not a pod person," he said, still serious.

"I'm not," she insisted, frowning at him.

"Are you sure?" he asked, reaching out to poke her shoulder.

She tried to catch his hand. "I'm sure, promise."

He let her catch it, it was only an excuse anyway. "Prove it."

"How?" Ino wanted to know as her fingers curled around his hand.

Geez, did he have to spell it out?

He reached up with his free hand to gently tug her hair. "What do you think?"

"Oh," she said lightly, uncurling from her position. "You're only using me. I see."

Which'd, of course, be why she was leaning forward to kiss him.

"Exactly," he whispered and then he was leaning forward as well, quickly meeting her lips as it'd been well... Since last year since he'd done this.

It was a very nice kiss, and she shifted closer without really thinking about it. Just that he was there, and things were okay, and kisses.

They had to be okay because there was kissing and Ichigo decided he needed to make up for lost time. His hold on her hand tightened while he brushed the fingers of his free hand through her hair, his lips not leaving hers.
