Room 504, Thursday Really Late Morning/Early Afternoon

Ino was in a Mood. Had been since yesterday and talking to Liir, and then talking to Cal had only made it worse. She was in a Mood.

Now, normally, this meant she’d be raging or ranting or flinging things around, but instead she’d drawn her curtains, shut her door, and for good measure settled down against it so no one could get in.

Staffy leaned against the wall by her desk and she wondered what Liir would say when she saw him again.

Whatever, right? She wasn’t in the mood for flying with him. She wasn’t in the mood to be happy, or silly, or even pissed off at him. Or, really, at anyone.

Just kind of... quiet. Almost sad. It wasn’t a very comfortable mood, she decided.

But it was still her Mood. And that was that. She didn’t need anyone coming by and telling her otherwise. Didn’t want anyone coming by and telling her otherwise.

"Okay! Okay! You could have been," Ichigo apparently felt the need to shout. "But you weren't so next time I'll just ask."

"Okay, then the squirrels will totally laugh at you," so would she, really. There was no winning this conversation.

A beat.

"And quit shouting, honestly."

"Yeah well... Quit saying stupid things!" he grumbled, in a quieter tone at least.

"You're the one that came to see me," she snarked. "So, obviously, the stupid things don't bother you that much."

"Well... I guess not," he stuffed his hands in his pockets and he was going to pretend that was a perfectly cool reply. It was.

He glanced around the room to distract himself. "Who's your room mate?"

The room was rather plant oriented, really. Little seedling trays on the spare bed and desk, and around the floor as well. And that wasn't even counting her mature plants that she had on her desk and hanging from the ceiling.

"I don't have one," Ino said slowly. "Haven't since the start of summer."

"I have a scrawny one," he told her.

"Does 'scrawny one' have a name?" she asked, flopping on her bed.

"Ender," Ichigo replied nonchalantly. "Andrew Wiggin, but apparently no one calls him that."

"I do now," Ino decided. Because, come on, seriously? That was like... a challenge. "What's he like?"

"Quiet," Ichigo moved closer to one of the many, many plants to study it. He was half expecting there to be something weird about it too. "I think he's shy or something."

[intraspective]

"Think he needs someone to drag him out of his shell?" Ino asked idly.

The plant was a perfectly normal one, if very healthy.

A normal plant was just weird. "No, that wasn't a hint for you to go bug him."

Ino gave him her best 'I'm-totally-innocent' look. "I have no idea what you're talking about.

It was Fandom and it was normal, he was expecting everything to be weird by now.

He glanced back at her, raising an eyebrow. "Like I'm going to buy that."

"What could I have possibly done to make you think I'd do anything like that?"

"Send Romeo after me on my first day to break my brain more," he said calmly, not thinking he was wrong.

"I didn't send him," Ino protested. "I just pointed out that it was his duty to do so and that you were new."

Ichigo crossed his arms as he faced her. "And that wasn't sending how?"

"He could've gone and seen any of the other newbies," Ino said, still innocent.

"No, you told him about me," he argued, eyeing her. "I'm not sure why."

"He asked who I'd met already," Ino said. "I didn't say anything like 'go scare that one, he's funny'."

"I'm not funny!" he protested instantly.

"Did I say that?" Yeah. Ino was so giving him the innocent eyes again.

"Implying something is saying it too," he argued, inviting himself to sit on the edge of the bed.
