Room 504, Thursday Evening

Ino flopped down on her bed the moment she reached her room, leaving the door swinging open behind her.

She was so tired. Staying up all night with Lana had been, well, she wasn’t going to regret doing it, but yeah, Ino? Liked her sleep sometimes.

And then the day. Ugh. Tyler-sensei had given her a detention—ugh, whatever--and she’d gotten to poison Logan-sensei for class. Which had been fun.

She was going to get up and shut the door, honest.

...Eventually. Maybe.

She giggled. "Well," Ino said loftily, "don't think I can do that, sorry. But I want a hug, and if you don't give me one I'll be most displeased at having to get up. Come in, come in!"

Dick walked over to give Ino the requested hug. "I haven't checked in with you since Fandom went to hell in a handbasket. I just wanted to see how you were doing after that."

Yay hugs! Ino was more than willing to return this one even if it meant she had to sit up. "I fought a six-headed monster," she informed him, "it was awesome."

"Very nice," Dick said. "I'm disappointed I didn't get a good seat for the fight."

[intraspective]

"It ran away," she told him, "I scared it off. It would've been more fun if it had stayed but oh well."

Ino would've been in serious trouble if it had stayed considering that none of her weapons had been working on it.

"Do you know what kind of monster it was?" Dick asked. "What it's called or anything?"

[intraspective]

"No clue," Ino admitted cheerfully, flopping back on her bed and gesturing for him to sit. "Just that it had six heads, liked the water, and had really nasty hair. Ew."

"Sounds kind of like Scylla," Dick said as he sat down. What? Batman's tutoring included classical mythology. You never knew when it would come in handy. "Good job with fighting it off, then."

[intraspective]

"Nasty hair," she repeated, because that was totally worth repeating.

A beat.

"I heard you came up with a unique way of staying out of danger..." she said teasingly.

Ino was, for once in her life, regularly listening to the radio for the past week.

"Yeah, I figured you would," Dick said. "I have no clue what caused that, either."

[intraspective]

"You were a rock," Ino laughed. "I only wish I got to see it."

"Thankfully Ned was kind and put me in a closet where nobody could see me," Dick said. "I owe him so much for that."

[intraspective]

"I think Ned owes me pie for that terrible awful thing," Ino said. "As your older sister," even if Dick was, really, older than her, "I totally should've gotten a photo. I could've put a ribbon on you! Or drawn a happy face!"

...Dick should probably be glad Ino hadn't gotten to see him, yes.

Dick blinked. "You know, I may have to buy a car for Ned for being so kind to me."

Ino wrinkled her nose at him.

"What's that supposed to mean?" She totally knew what he meant.

"It means that I'm glad that Rock-Me didn't end up with a bow and smiley face," Dick said.

[intraspective]

"But it would've been adorable."

"I shoot for more of a 'fresh faced handsomeness' than 'adorable,'" Dick said. "It's just outside of my personal style."

"Look on the bright side," Ino said lightly. "I like you, so the pictures would've been mostly just for my amusement. I've got enough blackmail pictures of Worf-as-a-kitten to last me for years."

"Key word: mostly," Dick said. "And can I get some of those pictures of Worf?"

[intraspective]

"See, that'd be why you'd have to stay in my good graces if I had pictures of you," Ino explained. "Because as long as I was happy, they'd be just for me."

A beat.

"And you totally can, as soon as I get them developed."

"All the more reason for me to be happy that you don't have pictures of me," Dick said. "I can't wait for the Worf pics, though."

"Okay, I should get going. I'm glad to hear that you're okay after last weekend."

[intraspective]

"You'll get the pictures, promise."

She shrugged a bit, fiddling with her hair. "I always wind up okay."

Okay, however, did not equal great. Oh well.
