Room 504, Friday Morning

[intraspective]

After leaving a call for Principal Washburn, Ino was fiddling with a seedling tray in her room. It was stupid, she knew, to hover over plants because they grew in their own time and there was no point in waiting around for them.

But Liir’d given them to her. Which made them special. And she definitely wanted to see them change colour the way he’d said they would. She glanced over at the Sun’s Glory she had growing over by her window. She’d have to transplant them soon. But maybe she’d keep just one all for her.

Ino thought that was a fair trade, and she still had seeds too. Quite a few of them. And Karal had said she could do what she wanted with them.

She wrinkled her nose cheerfully. Plants, at least, had no bad associations in them.

Romeo sighed deeply, clearly not actually upset. "My girlfriend was threatening to distribute film to the senior class, so I am fair certain she has pictures. Bother her about it."

[intraspective]

Ino laughed. "I totally will, you realize that, right?"

"And knowing Yurika, she would say yes, even if you aren't in our class," Romeo grinned. "I actually rather fear what would happen if you and she joined forces."

He apparently liked evil girls.

[intraspective]

She smirked. "Now you're just totally encouraging me to join forces with her!"

"I couldn't stop either of you, the least I can do is be prepared," Romeo shrugged.

[intraspective]

"Smart boy," she told him, with a toss of her head. "We'd definitely be a force of nature."

[withoutverona]

"Maybe it goes with being blond," Romeo told her.

It was as good a theory as any.

"So, now that you've learned that about me, what is new in your world?"

[intraspective]

Ino considered that. It was a fairly good theory at that.

"My garden is ready!" Ino bubbled with delight about that bit of news. It was easily the best part of her summer, sadly.

That ... didn't exactly seem like the most exciting news of the summer to Romeo, but he was used to people babbling at him about plants. He'd heard it enough from Friar Laurence.

"Oh?" he asked. "Where and what have you planted?"

[intraspective]

"It's not far behind the stables," she told him, beaming, "and it's got nearly everything. Even some plants from Karal's world that don't exist there, and Liir brought me flowers that'll go there too once the seedlings are bigger."

"Sounds pretty," Romeo noted. "Very Fandom, too, with the plants from different worlds. I should go see it."

[intraspective]

"You should!" Ino urged. "It's totally awesome."

Of course, she was incredibly biased.

"And when these grow?" she gestured at the seedling tray nearest to her. "I'll have plants that change colour to go in the garden as well!"

A beat.

"Do you know anyone who'd have alternate world plants they'd be able to get me?"

"Rikku, maybe?" Romeo mused, considering the question. "Or Reno, if you could convince him to be interested in plants."

[intraspective]

"I'll have to try them both," Ino said, wrinkling her nose. "If you see 'em first, can you tell them I'd like to talk to them at some point?"

[withoutverona]

"I'll do that," Romeo nodded.

[intraspective]

"You are my hero then," Ino declared, stretching and then having to wince as that reminded her rather sharply of her bruises gained yesterday. "Totally a hero."

[withoutverona]

"I wish being a hero were always so easy," Romeo told her, head cocked curiously at the wince. "Have you a gardening injury?"

[intraspective]

She snickered. "Nah, Cassandra beat me up yesterday."

Her grin though was an indication that this beating had been voluntary and that Cassandra was sporting some bruises of her own.

"You look broken up about that," Romeo noted. "Was it a good fight?"

[intraspective]

"I lost horribly," she said honestly, "and even then Cassandra was holding back, but it was actually. I needed a fight."
