Caelum A3, Wednesday Really Early Morning

Ino was careful to sneak back into her cabin after being gone for so long, but careful is somewhat relative when you're really low on sleep and things were sort of hazy as she tried to focus.

But only sort of. And she wasn't that loud besides. Ino was stubborn enough that, even though her bed looked inviting, she was going to ignore it and find a clean set of clothing to wear. She'd showered already, her hair hanging loose and damp down her shoulders.

Tugging on a clean pair of pants, Ino made a face at the bruises she had. She'd get rid of those once she'd slept, seriously. Geez.

Whatever.

"My guess", he retorted calmly, "since you walked out of here."

"Oh, well spotted," she scathed. "What's it matter to you?"

He shrugged, turning away.

"It doesn't. Matters to you, though, or it should."

[intraspective]

That got her to pause.

"What?" A beat. "What should matter to me?"

"What happens to you."

[intraspective]

What was he talking about?

"What happened to me?" she glanced down at herself. "If you're talking about the bruises I'll be healing them as soon as my chakra recovers enough to do so."

"Yeah, that's what I mean. You disappear for days, you come back bruised, your chakra's down too far to heal them, but I'm done tryin' to make you think you're worth more, Ino."

[intraspective]

"I was training," she said slowly, "how the fuck do you translate that to I don't think I'm worth more, or whatever?"

"You were training yourself to exhaustion out on your own", he said flatly.

[intraspective]

"Notice, that I am walking still, exhaustion maybe, but I'm still on my feet," she pointed out. "And, also, I told someone where I was going."

"Yeah? Who?"

"Cassandra," Ino said with a toss of her head.

And it wasn't even a lie, she really had told her.

"Cassandra who doesn't talk?"

That got a roll of her eyes. "She talks just fine to me. Not my fault if she doesn't talk to you."

"Look, whatever, Ino." He pushed himself to his feet. "I'm going for a run."

"I'm not asking you to stay," she said, "I've got work, but whatever. I don't get why you're giving me the third degree anyway."

"You don't get a lot of things."

And he was out the door.

Ino blinked after him for a moment, then shrugged.

"Whatever."
