Room 504, the Causeway, then back in Alexandria -- Monday All Day

Ino was up bight and early and neatly dressed with her hair pulled back. And pacing, and making sure she had the things she knew she'd need.

Like her Dad's credit card.

And a bit of her money from working at Wellspring, but mostly her Dad's card. Dad, Ino knew, would totally understand if it was for weapons.

Now she just had to wait for Triela to show up and they could go.

[For the shopping buddy! Up early for crazy sp, and everything past the Causeway is NFB due to distance!]

"Pffft," she said, stepping carefully into the place. "Like I'm scared of a building."

"Yeah, well, if it falls on you then I don't want to hear you whining about it."

Triela looked around and nodded, "This is great. I can show you how to clear a room and door-entry and stuff while we break in your gun."

"It's hard to whine if you're dead," she noted, setting her gun case on the ground and getting her gun. "So, since this is unsupervised--not counting you--and you mentioned before that you never used a fake even in practice, I'm assuming this is going to be done with live ammunition?"

"Oh yes." Triela grinned broadly. "No point in practicing if you aren't going to do it right."

"Then," she said, making sure her gun was ready, "how 'bout you show me how this is done?"

"Good idea," Triela grinned. "First thing's first. Make sure you're weapon is ready." She pulled her own pistol from its shoulder holster and went through a quick check: loaded and ready.

Ino copied her, this part at least no different than anything she'd done before. "Check."

"Good."

Triela looked around before nodding to an empty apartment with no door in the doorway. "Let's go through this step by step then. The first thing you do is identify your target."

"The immediate target would be the door and what's right past that, yeah?"

"Yes. The best way to think of it is by rooms. You need to clear the entire room as quickly as possible because once you've done that then all you have to watch is doors and windows. It cuts down on how many ways your attention gets split."

Triela gestures for Ino to step up to the doorway and give it a try. "No shooting on this run, but do everything else like you think you should."

Ino pursed her lips and muttered, half under her breath, "oh, to be Hyuuga right now." A beat. "Or have a team." Because, uh, yeah. Seriously.

Then, carefully, she made her way to the door. It wasn't like she hadn't learned how to do things like this before--just never with a gun--as a result, while Ino was more awkward than she would've liked, she wasn't hideous at it.

"Good," Triela called. "A lot of people forget to check the walls right next to the door, but that's where people are most likely to surprise you. It's close, and you can't see back there until you're already in the room."

"Unless you can see through walls," Ino said dryly. "But yes, I totally read you. It'd be like forgetting to check right behind the door you came in by. Stupid."

"Just an amateur mistake," Triela shrugged. "Good to know you're beyond those."

She nodded toward one of the bedrooms of the apartment which still had its door in place and closed. "Let's try this one. You'll have to check over the entire room at once, no getting peeks as you approach."

Okay. Now this was a bit more annoying, but whatever. Ino advanced on the door carefully, on silent feet. No need to get clumsy or careless just because this was practice.

She got the door open quickly and with a minimum of fuss, no point in using excessive force and yet making sure the door went all the way back so that no one could hide behind it, checking the walls with a quick glance as she darted inside the room.

"Closet too," Triela called from outside, not even sure whether there was a closet in that room or not.

"Any other doors at all? Like one to a private bathroom?"

"Nope," Ino said, scanning the room, "just a small window--you and I could get through it easily, but no one much bigger than us."

"Generally you don't have to worry about windows during an assault. It's usually hard to hide outside them, after all."

She looked around the lobby and spotted the stairs, "Let's head up a couple of floors and we'll do some entries that involve actual shooting."

"Well," she mused, "not here at least. Though back home windows are totally a concern." What with ninja being easily able to walk up walls and such.

Ino darted for the stairs, stepping up the first few of them lightly, "Race you!"

"You'll lose!" Triela laughed as she poured on the speed to the first landing and then planted her feet to simply leap up to the next one.

"Cheater!" Ino laughed, darting up the rest of the stairs in a rush.

"Can't cheat if there are no rules!" Triela laughed just as her next landing put her foot through a rotten board. She didn't go through, but her boot got stuck in the hole.
