Room 504, Saturday Early Morning

Ino? Was mostly sleeping, in that half-awake state that's really just to the side of being entirely out of it, and totally unaware of anything that might possibly be strange about the weekend. She'd been up late the night before, dancing, and now curled a little further under her blankets and fuzzily considered just...

Sleeping all day. Maybe.

Unless someone had other plans.

By the time that Inoue had managed to wind up outside the door to room 504, she'd figured out where she was.

Which meant Mom was here! And Daddy!

"MOM!" Inoue banged on the door. "MOM! Are you up yet? Can I come in?"

Ino squinted at the door. Mom?

She rubbed her eyes, crawling out of bed and over to open the door. She blinked at the small child.

"... can I help you?"

"MOM!" Inoue lunged, flinging herself at Ino's legs.

"I don't think so, sweetheart," Ino told the girl clinging to her legs. "My kids'll be blonde, and you're not."

That just got a giggle.

"You blame Daddy for it," Inoue nodded her head. "Because he's an alien."

[intraspective]

Ino was doing a lot of staring at the girl. Yes.

"Um. Alright," she supposed that might do it, or something? Who knew? "so, why don't you tell me who you are then? And who your parents are. I can't remember anything today so you've got to tell me."

"Mom," Inoue rolled her eyes, "you don't have to pretend! I know how to report without you faking things!"

That got raised eyebrows. "Well, go on then. Prove it."

She pulled away from Mom, straightening her shoulders and raising her chin in a stubborn determined way. A very Ino way, if you would.

"I'm Inoue Guerin, and my parents are--"

[intraspective]

Ino's burst of laughter cut the kid off.

"Me and Michael!"

Inoue crossed her arms and pouted.

"You didn't let me finish! Mom!"

[intraspective]

She was trying to kill the laughter that was rising in her, but it was hard and she wasn't doing so well. "Sorry, sweetheart. It's just, Mom and Dad are fighting right now, so it's a bit of a surprise."

And they'd, you know, broken up a while ago.

That got a wise little nod. "You guys like fighting though," Inoue said. "So why's it a big surprise? I'm me."

[intraspective]

"Sometimes we fight worse than other times," Ino told her daughter... that sounded way too weird, right? "How about you go find Daddy, he should be at the Diner today, and visit with him while I get dressed for the day."

And possibly consider hiding in her room and never coming out. If she and Michael had a kid, then what about her and Kabuto?

She wasn't going to think about that. Seriously.

Inoue mulled this over. "But you promise you'll show up later, right?"

Ino considered the ethics of lying to the kid.

Dammit.

"I'll be there," she said, feeling defeated. "Promise."

"Okay!" Ino beamed, darted in for a hug, the bolted out the door.

Ino shut the door quietly, leaned against it for a moment, and then howled with laughter.
