Room 504, Monday Late Afternoon

Ino was on her bed and pretending that the weekend hadn’t existed. Because she’d been a moron all weekend. The word ‘hi’ was banned from her vocabulary from now on. Yes. That’d work.

At least it had been mostly fun, though she’d bet that at least one person was totally going to mock her for being wee and chocolate obsessed. This reminded her—she had to throw out the rest of the chocolate she had in her room. Ino wasn’t going to eat it any time soon. Definitely not. No.

It had been fun. Except for the ‘mean lady’. Ino groaned. Yeah. Avoiding Lieutenant Kerrigan was right up there on her list of things to do from now on. And she had to check in with Annette at some point to see what the damage was to Annette’s room. What had they been thinking?

Oh, right. They hadn’t been.

[Door is shut, post is open!]

She captured his hand. "I had a lot of chocolate, and lot of fun, and met a bunch of people I've never met while regular-sized." Ino stared at the ceiling. "And Lieutenant Kerrigan said that my Dad didn't love me."

That part hadn't been fun.

"Lieutenant Kerrigan can stuff herself," he said firmly.

That was all there was to it.

She laughed.

"I still don't know why she got so upset." Which was part of the problem. "But I do know that Dad loves me. That's very clear."

"I'm sure," he said with a faint smile.

"And I haven't the faintest clue. I don't know the woman."

Ino shrugged. "Cable-san made little me feel better, so it's alright, I guess. Have you met Cable-san before? I can't remember if you've told me yes or not."

"I still haven't met him, no," he admitted. "I'm going to have to one of these days."

"You definitely have to," Ino said, nodding. "Then you'll see how awesome he is."

"I'll make a point of it. After all, you talk about him all the time."

She blinked at him. "I don't talk about him that much, do I?" Did she?

He shook his head.

"About as often as I talk about Professor Ambrose," he said fairly. "He's just important."

Ino beamed. "He is." She nodded. "But you'll tell me, right, if I'm just boring you?"

He smiled.

"You're talking to me. That makes it very hard to get bored."

He didn't get bored in general.

"Why?" Ino asked, "I find some people really really boring even when they're talking right to me."

"Because there's always something to pick up," he said. "I'm probably just odd."

"You are," she said, ruffling his hair. "But that's a good thing."
