Room 504, Saturday Late Morning

[intraspective]

Ino had, actually, wound up spending the night on the roof. That had been an accident though. She’d fully meant to get up and leave at some point and then had just… fallen asleep. Which wasn’t the healthiest thing to do, but whatever. So, much like yesterday (only without the training), she had a nice long shower and curled up on her bed with one of her medical textbooks.

She had utterly no plans to go out. Yes. Even though it was a Saturday and that meant she normally went to Lukes to talk to Michael but… considering yesterday... Yeah, no. Maybe next week.

[Door is closed, post is open!]

"Hey you," she said, smiling for him, "are you feeling okay? You look tired. Come sit down."

He walked over and sat as told, breathing out as he did.

"I'm fine. Andrew's a bit ill, but nothing serious. And you?"

He hadn't listened to the radio last night.

"Went through with my choice yesterday," she said, hugging him, "so it was a rather crappy day. But I'll be fine." Stubbornly.

Not that she was fine, just that she'd be.

He slipped an arm around her in reply and leaned against her a little.

"Good," was all he said. She knew how to take care of herself. She was extremely capable, after all.

He didn't know what else to say. He'd just needed to see her, perhaps just needed a bit of human warmth that as much as it was always welcome and always pleasant, had no chance of taking a romantic detour.

"Fell asleep on the roof last night," Ino admitted to him, smiling a bit, and pleased with his response. She could take care of herself after all.

"I've got you beat," he said with a faint smirk. "I fell asleep on the broom once."

[intraspective]

That made her blink up at him. "Like... when you were flying? How'd you manage that?" The roof, while uncomfortable, was safe.

He settled a little farther on the bed.

"I was upset. I didn't want to be near anyone, anything. I'd been so happy and then I was so hurt... I just flew up and passed out. Teddy came for me the next morning."

He didn't think of how he'd done it. It wasn't anything he'd ever considered.

Ino considered that, turning it over in her mind.

"Would you still react that way if you were that upset?"

He shook his head.

I'm here, aren't I?

"Sometimes I'll go for a flight if I'm upset, but I come back down without prompting. When Teddy came, I didn't want to come down at all. I didn't see the point."

Her arms tightened around him. "Good then," Ino said, "that you can come down now. That there's a point."

He looked sideways at her.

"Yes, there is."

She was a good part of it.

"I'm glad," she said honestly.

He nodded, but didn't have anything else to say.

Absently, he kissed her hair.

Ino made him feel better. Made him think that, perhaps, there might be something to the collection of flesh and bone and mistakes and brownies that he liked to call Liir. She didn't say it anymore. At this point, it was just something she did by her presence.

She didn't have anything to say either really. Just content to rest against him, not inclined to chatter the way she normally could, and quietly pleased just to be here and feeling warm and safe.
