1899 Paris: A Park, Friday Late Night

Ino had totally chased off the drunken man who'd been sleeping on the bench before she'd decided to steal it from him. Now, she leaned back, almost comfortably, and tried to decide if heading back to the inn was even worth it for the night. She wasn't feeling very sleepy.

She kicked her feet out, letting them thud back onto the ground and sighed.

Maybe she'd just go steal something to take her mind off of the fact that they might never get home. Putting up a brave face in front of other people was easy, especially since none of them here knew her all that well, but Ino did worry about it.

"Don't be stupid," she scolded herself, "it'll work out."

It had better.

That was the answer to both of the questions.

Ino was just going to keep her mouth shut then on Romeo's plans to leave the city and try to fix the stupid feud thing up in Italy. If he didn't manage it, he'd be back. And if he did, well...

He'd probably never have existed in the first place. Ow. Stupid time travel.

"I'm telling Cable-san you said that," Ino informed him.

"Make sure to use more colorful language when you do," Deadpool said, snickering at that. "And don't expect much of a response."

Ino tried to kick him for that. "Geez."

Deadpool was still too busy snickering to dodge or catch it.

"It would be hilarious!"

"It would not be," Ino said crossly, going to kick him again only harder, "you're just easily amused."

That one he caught. "And it'll be hilarious!"

"Let go of my foot," Ino protested, tugging ineffectually to get free.

"That's what you get when you kick people," Deadpool told her, wagging a finger in disapproval.

"You were laughing at me," Ino retorted, lashing out with her other foot.

"I was laughing at Nate's response to that kind of accusation," Deadpool insisted, dropping her foot to block the new kick.

She stuck her tongue out at him, rolling neatly off the bench because, really, benches weren't made to fight on well.

"You were totally laughing at me," she said, "which is totally uncool by the way."

He was comfortable on the bench, darn it. "Okay, so maybe a little."

That earned him Ino trying to kick his knee out of joint.

Deadpool frowned, setting the knee again.

"Stop that."

She locked her arms behind her back and looked impudently at him. "What if I don't want to?"

"Well..." Deadpool darted forward to grab her suddenly. "..that?"

He'd caught her. On no. Ino grinned at him, even though the speed of it had startled her. Still, this was much better than him just sitting there.

She smiled oh-so-innocently. Then smashed her heel down towards his foot. Spoiling for a fight? Her? No way!

Rolling his eyes, Deadpool clenched his jaw at the slight pain. "Ya know, this isn't the most healthy of reactions."

And he was the master of healthy. Really.

"I don't care," she said stubbornly, "you're the only one I can even fight with here. The others aren't that sort."

Fair enough.

He reached out quickly to grab her by the hair. "Next time we get shang-hied to another time, I'll drag someone for you to fight along."

Why was it always the hair? She ducked, narrowly avoiding his hand, and kicked at his knee again. When something worked, why change it?

"That's sweet," she said, "but that implies there'll be a next time and I'd rather there isn't, you know."

"But time travel is fuuuuuun," Deadpool drawled, moving back just fast enough to avoid more damage. Not as quick as Arashi, but she was all wee and Rikku like.

"You've got to be kidding," she said, rocking back on her heels then trying a punch, "where's the fun in being away from everyone else?"

He grinned, using the momentum of her punch to pull her forward and down onto his knee.

"Are you calling me a liar?"
