1899 Paris: A Park, Friday Late Night

[intraspective]

Ino had totally chased off the drunken man who'd been sleeping on the bench before she'd decided to steal it from him. Now, she leaned back, almost comfortably, and tried to decide if heading back to the inn was even worth it for the night. She wasn't feeling very sleepy.

She kicked her feet out, letting them thud back onto the ground and sighed.

Maybe she'd just go steal something to take her mind off of the fact that they might never get home. Putting up a brave face in front of other people was easy, especially since none of them here knew her all that well, but Ino did worry about it.

"Don't be stupid," she scolded herself, "it'll work out."

It had better.

That poor drunk man.

Deadpool watched him scamper off, quietly walking up to the bench and ninja thereon.

"What'll work out? The career of Jaslene? God no!"

Ino started, then scowled to hide it. "What do you think?" She asked, glancing at him. "Working out getting home, obviously."

Resting his elbows on the back of the bench, Deadpool leaned forward. "Well, of course we're getting home. Thems just the wacky of time travel."

[intraspective]

"Yeah," she shook her head, "it's just, you know, Jeff's already giving up on getting home. And I've never time travelled before." Pause. "Oh! And Andrew's here as well. Found him this afternoon. So there's five of us in total so far."

"Andrew?" Did he have an Andrew in his class...?

Oh, who knew anymore?

"Well they're all normal kids." A beat. "Kinda. Jeff is just weird."

[intraspective]

"Andrew... Wells?" Ino thought that was his last name. "He's Liir's boyfriend. Spent the last week and a bit as a bunny?" This was her honestly trying to be helpful. "He's a total wuss about pain and can't fight at all, but he does know the language around here. At least Romeo will be a bit of use in a fight." Mostly 'cause she'd, you know, found him a gun.

"That's my brother you're calling weird," Ino protested half-heartedly, "and I can't decide if I should be offended or not that you've lumped me in as 'not normal'."

"Nah, that just means you won't run away if we get attacked by dinosaurs or somthin'," Deadpool replied, vaulting over the bench to sit.

"Which is a good thing, by the way."

[intraspective]

"Actually," Ino said thoughtfully, shifting over so he had more room to sit, "I'd probably try possessing one. Dad's never taken over a dinosaur."

"But why would you want to take over a dinosaur? Weetiny brains, they have."

Ino eyed him. "Because then I'd control the dinosaur. Smashy smashy on other dinosaurs."

"But they lack basic motor skills! And opposable thumbs!" They were very important if you asked him.

"They also have really big teeth and claws," Ino pointed out.

"Thumbs!" He wiggled his own around.

"You don't need thumbs to bite people," Ino said, rolling her eyes, "and it's not like I'd be without thumbs for long."

"I think I'd rather stab than bite. No offense..."

[intraspective]

"Well, yeah," she retorted, speaking as if he was the slow one here, "but again, big teeth versus little kunai. The amount of damage I could do quickly is important here. Keep up."

"But you'd need to get in closer," Deadpool replied. "And have to deal with more potential damage!"

[intraspective]

She shrugged. "Kabuto would heal me after?"

Planning: not Ino's strong suit.

"And if Creepy McNinja isn't around, like... oh, say now?"

[intraspective]

"I'd be... a little more careful." Not really. She'd try, but the moment the fight broke out... "And afterwards heal what I can myself, and hope the rest will heal with time."

Deadpool patted her on the head. "Of course."

She squinted at him. "You're humouring me."

"I humour everyone!" Deadpool replied, grinning cheerfully. "Didn't you realize that?"

She scowled. "I'm not a stupid little kid you know."

He cocked his head to the side, looking at her. "I know."
