Reno's (& Elena's) place, Edge, Gaia, Monday Afternoon
Ino had her stuff packed and was cross-legged on the floor giving the seedlings she'd sent Reno a little while ago a good looking over while waiting for her portal.
She was still… iffy about that whole Fandom Thing, but while being around was fun, she was pretty sure that putting it off would only make it worse.
Zen. She was zen. Okay. As much as Ino ever was.
Which… wasn't very. But alrighty then. Lying to herself was totally healthy!
"So," she said, "you wouldn't whine if I wanted to come kill monsters some more sometime?"
[NFB due to distance and for the red-haired Turk!]

Every now and again, he'd put it down in order to fish the ferret out of the planters.
"Come on back any time you wanna kick the shit outta snarlin' nasties, yo."
no subject
A beat.
"I think I'm going to have to come back," Ino added dreamily. "Monsters to kill and they give you stuff."
no subject
"You really don't get monsters who give loot anywhere else out there, do you? I wanna ask what the hell's wrong with the universe, man. If you're killin' monsters, least they can do is give you shiny crap for your troubles, yo."

She fussed with one of the radish seedlings.
"I mean, they're doing good, but really, the acronym sounds so much cooler."
no subject
Reno was pretty sure that it wasn't. But he was too damn lazy to look it up.
Mako was terribly interested in what Ino was doing, and so he was going to just trundle on over to attempt to gnaw on her hand. The radishes weren't half as exciting.

Oh, this was the best game ever, so far as Mako was concerned! Gonna get poked! Gonna get pooooked! Gotta eat that finger! Yay!
no subject
A beat.
"Anyway to get some sort of coherency into your world's recent history?" she asked. "'Cause it sort of makes my head reel."
no subject
"How recent you want? The last guy that tried to destroy the world, twice? The guys before that? Or that other guy?"
Gaia kinda had a lot of people that weren't huge fans of... Gaia.
Mako, meanwhile, was totally enjoying this game. He couldn't help it if his roughhousing had been encouraged while he was growing up, could he? Omnomnom! Gonna kill that hand! Gonna kill it good!

She glanced at him. "How 'bout the last twenty-twenty-five years?"
no subject
That was the important part.
"Grew up under the plate, so I missed a shitload of whatever was happenin' outside of the slums. ShinRa had a war goin' on with Wutai for who-the-hell-cares how long, mako became the staple power source around the planet, an' with that came people who were convinced that it was killin' everything."
Snerk.
"Whaddaya know, they were right?"
no subject
Kinda horrifying, really.
no subject
He shrugged.
"I still don't even know what for. He got some Jenova on the brain or somethin', I guess. Them genes are nothin' but mental friggin' poison."
no subject
"Jenova genes?" Ino asked, tilting her head at him. "Like, the SOLDIER mako stuff?"
no subject
Reno shrugged. "Jenova's one of them hideous freaks from outer space, crashed on the planet thousands of years ago an' tried to kill everything on it."
no subject
"...a book would be lovely," she decided impishly.
no subject
"An' here I ain't even gotten to talkin' about Sephiroth an' Nibelheim an' the fact that the guy's been killed three friggin' times now, zoto."

"So what, he was just that special?"
no subject
Or he was just that special. Take your pick?

no subject
No, he wouldn't.
