Room 504, Saturday Evening

Getting back from grad, which had been exciting but would've been more exciting had she actually been able to fight something--but whatever--Ino had totally spent the rest of the afternoon lazying about in a bath. And totally avoiding going across the hall though she'd told him she would.

Ino might've been avoiding talking about stuff. Might. Maybe. Okay, yes. Graduation was the stupidest thing ever, why did people have to leave?

Now though, she was sitting cross-legged on her floor and planting some of the seeds that Karal had given her into the empty seedling trays she'd picked up on Wednesday. Why yes, she was aware that this rendered her bathing earlier mostly ridiculous, but whatever.

She just wanted to concentrate on the seeds, and cling to the fact that overall she'd had a pretty nice day.

Kabuto had spent the remainder of the day finishing his organizing. All the was left of his books was a small pile of scrolls on his desk.

Today had, surprisingly, been fun. There was just one more order of business.

Walking across the hall, Kabuto knocked lightly against the doorframe.

Ino peeked at him from lowered eyes. She'd heard him coming from across the hall of course, and her shoulders felt tense even as Ino smiled at him.

"Hey," she said quietly.

Kabuto smirked slightly. "Hi."

"I was going to come see you," Ino told him. "I hadn't forgotten."

No, she'd just been avoiding it.

"I didn't think you had," Kabuto assured her. "I simply beat you to it."

[intraspective]

Her lips twisted just a bit and she glanced down. "Not that that's really a surprise, I guess, yeah? I'll beat you in something eventually."

"You will," Kabuto agreed easily. "And sometime it will actually be something worth bragging about." He wasn't being a jerk...well, he was. But it wasn't meant to be as much of a barb as it could be.

"How was the rest of your day?"

[intraspective]

"Small talk?" she commented, ignoring the barb. "It doesn't suit you. My day was quiet. Plants and hot water, that's about it. You?"

"Just finishing a few things up." Kabuto shrugged slightly. "Getting things ready to send some books home." Actually, to send them all home. Details.

Details were important. "Oh," Ino said, keeping her eyes on her seedling trays. "I guess that'd be important for you now, yeah?"

"I'm not leaving yet," he pointed out. "I still have a project to work on."

"You're not leaving?" Ino asked, trying not to get her hopes up.

"I don't intend to," Kabuto replied, shrugging. "Work will take me away for a short while, but likely only a weekend. i just find no reason to keep all of my books here when I haven't used many of them at all."

A weekend. She could deal with a weekend.

"You're seriously not leaving?" Ino might be stuck on that point.

"I don't intend to," Kabuto replied. It was the closest thing she was going to get to a "no".

He got a brilliant smile from her. "You're, like, my favourite person ever right about now."
