OOC: 50 Things -- Yamanaka Ino

intraspectiveI figure that since I wrote them out I might as well post them.
1. Ino would do anything for the people she cares about. Even be their enemy if that’s what they needed.
2. She liked Sasuke before Sakura did. She was first.
3. She never said anything though, because Sakura was her friend and Ino thought Sakura needed him more.
4. When Sakura declared them rivals instead of friends, Ino accepted it without hesitation. But she cried the moment she was alone.
5. The very next day was the first time she actively expressed her affection for Sasuke in Sakura’s presence. It was a challenge to Sakura. A silent ‘You want him? Then you’ll have to beat me’.
6. If she does something nice for someone, Ino doesn’t ever really expect anything in return. Even thanks.
7. Ino really really doesn’t get why so many people don’t like Kabuto. Even if he is a jerk.
8. The only books Ino reads are those that concern either her classes, research purposes, or her training. She doesn’t read for pleasure.
9. She can cook. Quite well even. But she can’t stand actually doing it.
10. When she came home in tears after her first day at the Academy because she hadn’t known all the answers to the questions Suzume-sensei had asked, her Dad sat her down on his knee, dried her tears, and told her that it was okay not to know everything as long as she was confident in what she did know. Ino took that to heart.
11. Ino trusts Cable utterly.
12. She thinks of him as her second dad. But would never tell him that.
13. Stubborn doesn’t cover it.
14. Ino will never forget the fact that, when she went and asked Yondaime for relationship advice, he called her boyfriend a monster.
15. In her suitcase there’s an old red ribbon that she pulls out and stares at every now and then. It still hurts, even after all this time.
16. Jeff alternately makes Ino cringe and smile. Part of her thinks that’s what siblings are supposed to be like. Crazy and all.
17. She trains more than she’d ever let on.
18. Ino doesn’t believe that she’ll ever be good enough. She’d deny thinking that though.
19. Caramel is pretty revolting.
20. … but it’s vaguely tolerable on ice cream.
21. Being thanked for helping out makes Ino uncomfortable. Severely uncomfortable.
22. Her favourite flower? She doesn’t have one.
23. If Yondaime ordered her to do something, and Cable told her to do the opposite… she doesn’t know it yet, but she’d pick Cable every time.
24. She’s a lot like her father.
25. Ino can count the number of people that she really thinks of as friends on one hand. The rest are just acquaintances with severely varying degrees of closeness. She just says ‘friend’ because it’s easier than trying to explain the way she thinks.
26. A.J. is a friend.
27. So is Annette.
28. A small part of her really believes that every single one of her friends will stab her in the back one day. After all, Sakura did.
29. She likes slow songs better than fast ones.
30. Ino can talk for hours and say nothing of substance.
31. Asking for help? Happens very rarely.
32. Ino was the top kunoichi, female ninja, of her year.
33. Planning is something she’s better at than most people would think. Well, at least until she loses her temper.
34. Lying is something she sucks at when it comes to other people, but she’s pretty good at doing it to herself.
35. She can’t abide feeling useless.
36. Patience is something she wishes she had more of.
37. Ino really doesn’t know who she’d rather date—Kabuto or Michael.
38. But she sleeps in one of Kabuto’s shirts and, first thing in the morning before she’s really awake, Ino wonders if that means anything. Maybe it does.
39. Maybe it doesn’t.
40. She hasn’t written back to Shikamaru yet because she doesn’t know what to say. She doesn’t want to go home, but Ino feels bad that the rest of her team hasn’t been being sent out on missions.
41. Ino can meditate pretty much anywhere.
42. Getting hurt sucks, but Ino figures it’s the price she pays for really living. Most of the time it seems like a fair trade-off.
43. Television doesn’t interest her much. She’d rather get up and move than sit and stare at a screen.
44. Her memory-recall is excellent.
45. On her desk is a calendar that has the 29th of February circled in red.
46. She’s not a big fan of jewelry—especially if it’s meant to go on her hands. Her earrings are the only bits of jewelry she wears consistently.
47. She nags because she cares.
48. Ino would be willing to bet that she knows more about flowers than almost anyone else on the island.
49. Ino would rather laugh than cry, so most of the time that’s what she does.
50. Self-confidence means everything to Ino. Because otherwise there's no point.
