Room 504, the Causeway, then back in Alexandria -- Monday All Day

Ino was up bight and early and neatly dressed with her hair pulled back. And pacing, and making sure she had the things she knew she'd need.

Like her Dad's credit card.

And a bit of her money from working at Wellspring, but mostly her Dad's card. Dad, Ino knew, would totally understand if it was for weapons.

Now she just had to wait for Triela to show up and they could go.

[For the shopping buddy! Up early for crazy sp, and everything past the Causeway is NFB due to distance!]

"So you say," Triela laughed as she stepped up her own pace to keep even with Ino... for now.

"Well, if you win, just remember that it's because I let you."

Suuuure it was.

"Hey, who's the teacher here?" Triela objected with a laugh as they approached the top of the stairs.

"What about sneaky tricks?" Triela asked as she snapped out an awkward kick to try to trip Ino up and dash up the stairs. It probably would have worked better if she were any good at fighting hand to hand. The only thing she had going for herself was speed.

"Hey, it's not my fault I can take most people out with one punch," Triela shrugged as she jogged up behind Ino. "Besides, I'm still a better shot than you."

"Quite so." Triela looked around, then nodded at an apartment with it's door partially open. "Same deal as before, but this time every light source is a bad guy. Lamps, ceiling lights, whatever. You need to take them down as quickly as possible before they have a chance to respond."

She cocked her head, "Think you can handle that?"

"Remember that if you've done it right you'll have surprise on your side. It will take a second or two for them to react." Triela rolled her shoulders back, "For this one I'm just going to watch your technique. There are plenty of apartments though, we can practice as much as we want."

"Like any fast fight, a firefight is about speed. You need to shoot each target twice and move on. And never stop moving yourself. You don't want to be a target. That means you need to move and shoot in a way that keeps your path clear."

Triela tilted her head, "Does that make sense?"

"Just do it as fast as you can," Triela decided. "I'll watch you and see what needs improvement."

"It's always hard to say for sure," Triela countered. "People are always surprised when someone kicks down their door and starts shooting at them.

"Still, you're right, you're too slow. But that's probably because you don't have enough practice. Your main problem is shooting on the run. You've got pretty good aim but you take too long to recover between shots. Come on," she jerked her head to the next apartment over, "Maybe seeing someone who does this for a living can do will help you a bit."

"The good news is that you've got the basics down fine. Aim, coordination. I think you just need practice."

Then, without any preamble, Triela drew her pistol, kicked the door open, and stepped inside shooting. There was a rhythm to her movements: two shots, two steps, two shots, two steps. If two targets were close enough together she'd take shots at both of them before moving, but other than that it was a fairly simple pattern.

"Clear!" she called out of habit as she let herself relax after the last shot.

"You know, I hadn't thought of it like that, but in a way it is." Triela tapped her chin thoughtfully. "And I guess that it's the sort of dance you want to lead in. As long as everyone is reacting to you, they're not coming up with nasty things to do to you."

"It's just a matter of practice, I think. You want to try another one?" There were, after all, plenty of abandoned apartments.
